I get to see my family!!! :)

I'm so excited today. My husband and I decided last night that we actually think we can afford to take a trip to visit my family. It's going to be the first time I've seen my mom's cousin (who's actually more like my mom's sister) in probably 5 years now. And she's very ill. Her daughter just died in April (I blogged about her, her name was Judy). And the sadness isn't helping her poor heath at all. Hospice is already there, so this will likely be the last time I get to see her. I just pray I'm not too late.
It's also going to be the first time in 9 years that I've seen my grandma. We're going by her house after we visit mom's cousin. So, first we're headed to Tennessee, then West Virginia. I was born in West Virginia, but I hardly ever go there now. Not many people left around there to visit. The relatives I still have there are all pretty distant from me. Most of them I wouldn't know if I ran into them on the street. But I still like to go see Grandma when I can.
With my husband still being a seasonal employee, I didn't know if we were gonna be able to make the trip. But we've been really lucky with the new web-service we've started, and we have a $500 visa gift card (THANK YOU MYCOUPONS) that we've been holding on to for emergencies.
I just had to share my excitement. We're leaving the 11th or 12th, but I'm so tempted to go start packing. lol. Maybe I'll just start making lists so I'll be sure I don't forget anything ... looks like I am my mother's daughter (she makes lists for everything).
Another thing that is really exciting is my parents are also going to visit the same relatives at the same time. It's been almost a year since I've seen my parents. Their dog (my dog too before I got married), was very very ill (stomach cancer), and he couldn't travel because he would get car sick and once he started throwing up they had to go to an emergency vet to get him to stop. Last Satuday my parents were faced with the painful decision of having to end his suffering. The cancer had eaten through his stomach. Mom is heartbroken, so I think the trip will be good for her as well.
I've really missed my family. I can't wait to see them.
