It's Almost Here!

It's almost here, my birthday! 3 more days to another thankful and wonderful year on this earth. But this birthday is a big one, it's the closing in fast of living almost half a century. Nope, I'm not going to divulge how close I am, that's my secret! LOL
As the birthdays seem to arrive quicker and quicker and the numbers go higher and higher, it makes one start to think of that word ..... aging EEK! UGH! I said it... aging!
Though I feel I've been aging rather gracefully with just some fine lines around the eyes and mouth, which I call happy lines from lots of laughter and smiling (an important factor in life), I can thankfully report no major wrinkle crisis yet. Sagging well that's hard to tell as I've always been a small-boned petite person ....but last time I checked, it appeared everything was still in it's right place. Gray hairs, my very long auburn hair has not a speck of gray yet. I have 3 aunts on my mother's side that are near and or are in their 70's and you can count on 2 hands how many gray hairs they have. THANK YOU genetics!
But seriously, society is living a whole deal longer than generations ago. Thanks to many improvements in the health and medical field. There's all types of products out there that claim to make one look and feel younger. If you have the money, you can get a face lift, tummy tuck, you name it, it can get lifted or tucked! Actually it's a multi-million dollar market. A good part of our society are either approaching being a senior citizen or are, thanks to the baby-boomer era!
So now that I'm heading toward and looking forward to another half century of life, what do I do to help fight the aging effect or at least prolong it a bit? Here's just a few things I do.
I exercise by taking walks, working out in the garden, playing my drums and sometimes jogging to keep my body strong and in shape. Aside from just the body, I read alot and do crossword puzzles to keep the brain healthy and strong as well.
Sleep.. it's important to make sure one gets enough sleep. Usually 7 hours suffices for me, but there are some that say 8-10 hours is the best.
I try to get proper nutrition by eating well, you know all kinds of veggies, fruits, fish and reducing my intake of red meats, though I do go for that occasional piece of steak or cheeseburger. Moderation is the name of the game.
I also take care of my skin. On a very rare occasion I might wear makeup. I make sure to pamper my skin with healthy cleansing products and plenty of moisturizing.
Lastly I take supplements. Some vitamins and supplements are an important factor to insure a healthy body and mind.
I usually purchase my supplement products at BotanicChoice.com as well as some skincare products. Botanic Choice is a company that's been trusted since 1910. They offer a huge selection of high-quality nutritional supplements, vitamins and fresh herbs and beauty products at great pricing. PLUS you can also get FREE products with Botanic Rewards at Botanic Choice. You earn a Rewards Card with EVERY order. Collect 6 and earn $50 of FREE products.
Another site I like to shop for skincare is Florapathics.com. Florapathics offers the highest quality organic herbal and aromatherapy products for health and well-being. I love their Aromatherapy Bodycare Products which is an all-natural line that is 100% pure, pesticide-free, non-GMO, sulfate-free, and are produced strictly from plant-based materials with no animal testing of any kind. Their facial care line is awesome as well!
