When I think of ground coffee, I think of that wonderful stuff that wakes me up every morning. A nice pot of hot fresh coffee, always starts my day off!
But little did I know, that you can do more with coffee than drink it. It actually can be used as a plant fertilizer, ant deterrent, deodorizer.....who knew! Don't believe it? Well look for yourself at some things that coffee can be used for. So don't throw those coffee grinds away after you've made your pot of coffee!
Got Ants? No problem, just sprinkle some dry coffee grounds outside doors, cracks or wherever those pesky insects are coming from.
Smelly Freezer or Frig? Get the odor out simply by filling a small bowl with fresh or used coffee grounds and leave overnight. For a flavored coffee scent, just add a couple of drops of vanilla
Cats In The Garden? Shoo them away from using your garden as a litter box with a mixture of orange peels and used coffee grounds placed around your plants.
Need Fertilizer? Use old coffee grounds to fertilize rosebushes, azaleas, rhododendrons, evergreens, and camellias.
Coffee Playdough? You bet! Kids can have fun with this easy home made clay. Simply mix about 2 cups of dried coffee grounds with a 1/2 of a cup of salt and 1 to 2 cups of corn meal. Add in enough warm water to get the dough to the consistency you like.
Hands Smell Like Garlic? Get rid of the odors after peeling or chopping onions and garlic by rubbing a small amount of dry used coffee grounds on your hands.
Keep on saving!
