Explains my sudden craving for carrots and salt licks

Posted 02-06-2007 at 12:15 PM by mycoupons

"Your nails look like crap!" This from the man who promised to love me through sickness and health, better or worse, and coincidentally has been using the same hairbrush since the Regan administration. Not exactly the foremost authority on grooming.

Yes, I will admit it. I have bad nails. I don't bite them or pick them or make them perform heroic acts. They just don't like to grow. Period.

My husband was kind enough to point out my infraction last month as we were heading to a business dinner. Forget the fact that I spent thirty-nine minutes blow drying my hair and sixteen minutes putting on make-up (Which I had to wash off and start over; because the last time I actually WORE make-up, blue eye shadow was still in fashion.) Never mind the fact that I went and purchased a new outfit, just so I could wear something that did not have the faint smell of baby vomit on the collar. Go for the jugular, honey. Get her where it hurts, point out the nails.

The appearance of my nails is directly to blame on my lifestyle. I change diapers, wash dishes, clean floors and do enough laundry in any given day to deplete the earths supply of water by 2020. The fact that I like to sew, quilt and put together intricate scrapbooks for my children to toss in their garages twenty years from now doesn't help either.

The day after the business dinner, I went to my local beauty supply and browsed the selection of nail products. I came across a bottle of Healthy Hoof- Hoof Lacquer. Originally developed for horses' hooves, it was discovered by groomers to be excellent for personal care. For $2.79- it was a bargain.

I took it home, did a little self-manicure and voila! My nails looked pretty good. Over the next ten days, they started to look better, stopped peeling, and were longer. When my husband came home one night, I pointed out how good my nails looked. He agreed and asked where I had them done. Up the street in the Target plaza." I blurted out. Well, it's worth the price, keep going!" He said.

Every Wednesday at 5, I go ' get my nails done'- which equates to me sitting in my car, taking off the old polish, and applying a new coat. I then take the $15 my husband gives me, head to Starbucks, drink a venti hazelnut latte, and enjoy an hour to myself.

Do I feel guilty for 'lying' to my husband?? Neigh.

Check it out: Healthy Hoof- Hoof Lacquer

They sell it for $2.39- Search for Healthy Hoof Lacquer- Don't forget to use code 258 for $2 off. Not a bad deal for .39!

**EDITORS NOTE** Seems they are sold out- guess my recommendation was good enough! Next week- I will be reccomending Ferrari's!!**

Until we meet again,

Cici
