Shhhhh.....Do You Hear That?

What is it? It's the quiet that comes when your children aren't home!! Ok so my kids are spending some time with their grandparents. They've been gone since yesterday morning and will be home sometime today. I miss them and am ready for them to come home. When they first leave, the quiet is wonderful. But after listening to some music, watching what I want on TV(and that does NOT include Spongebob, Suite Life of Zack and Cody or Scooby Doo), sitting at the computer for hours at a time and basically being lazy, I'm now ready to hear those little screams of delight again. After about 4 hours without them, the silence is deafening. It's a good break for a while but now I need to hear "mom, it's my turn to have the remote" or "mom, I'm hungry again" and how about "do I have to take a bath today?". All the questions, giggles, fussing with each other and general noise will return to my home very soon. I look forward to it. But I wonder how long it will take me to say "what was I thinking"!!
Anyone else love the little break when your kids are gone? Anyone else anxious to have their kids and all the noise back? And anyone else find that it only takes a few minutes to wish for silence again?
I'll go and enjoy watching Judge Judy while I can. I'll go enjoy hearing the rain while I can. And I'll be lazy for a couple of more hours, while I can. And then I'll enjoy the noise, the laughter and the life that is KIDS, while I can!
