Do I Really Need That?

Going through something life changing like a divorce has caused me to think a lot and reflect on many things. I always wonder if I could have changed things, if things would be different had each of us made different choices. I'm convinced they would have. And yet I'm not sad about the end result of this. I'm actually happy, happier than I have been in a long time. I'm excited because I have a chance to rewrite the story of my life. And I heard on the radio the other day, someone said they were looking to be loved but then questioned whether that's what they needed or not. Well, that sent me into my thinking mode again. What is it that I need in life? Wants and needs are very different and sometimes I think I confuse the two. So I'm on a quest to uncover what it is that I really need and what are the things that I just want. Who knows, I may be more confused than ever but I really want to make sure that my life, a new life, is just what it should be. Oh I know it will never be perfect and I know I won't reach every goal that I set out for but if I can make sure my needs are met first and then work on my wants.....that sounds like a plan for me.
