Thank you for the post Leslie. Keeping positive here: I have heard that most brain tumors are 100% treatable. Wish I could remember where it was I heard/saw that, but, it was very recently. Also, the "lesion" on the lung could be scarring from pneumonia. Hoping for the best for you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with you! I know what you, as a family member are going through worrying about your mom and I have seen first hand what your mom is going through. My now 23 year old DD had a brain tumor about 5 years ago. It turned out to be non-cancerous, so they decided to just "watch it" and not treat it until they had any evidence it was growing or getting worse. Even still, she went through the terrible headaches, loss of vision at times (blackouts where she couldn't see for a few minutes). We had to start driving her to the university for her classes at that time ( her first sememster in college was when they found it). Basically driver her everywhere until she stopped having the blackouts or unless she could catch rides with friends. After about a year the tumor just went away on it's own, she had a pituitary microadenoma tumor. Anyway, you do what you have to do to get through it. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Thank you all so much!! I will pass on the messages to Momma and let her know you are all thinking about her and praying for her!! We all really appreciate it! I truley believe that praying is the best thing we can do at this point. The doctors told us that these could be any number of things and it doesn't necessarily mean that any of them are cancerous. Hopefully we will get the results in the next few days. Momma is holding up pretty well. She is not feeling good at all, she is having horrible headaches, can barely stand to be in any light. They have given her some pain medicine, but it's not helping alot and on top of that they make her sick to her stomach! But all in all we are all staying positive and hoping for the best! Thanks once again, I will keep you updated!

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not updated earlier. It seems we have been around the world and back again. Mom has been to several doctors and we still do not have any definite answers. Monday she was hurting really, really bad so my Dad took her to the ER. They found she was severly dehydrated and also found her gallbladder to be in very bad shape (the ER physician & surgeon said it was the worst they had saw). She was admitted to the hospital & has not been out since then. The doctors finally got to do a biopsy on Tuesday and were going back & forth about if they should/shouldn't remove her gallbladder. On Thursday the doctors said they did not get enough tissue from the biopsy to make a diagnosis, so they decided to transfer her to another hospital (Baptist Memorial in Memphis, TN) where they could do a CT guided biopsy. Yesterday Momma had a very busy day - they did another spinal tap, a biopsy on her lung and also decided to remove her gallbladder. It could be as late as Thursday before they gets results of the biopsy!! Hopefully it will not be that long; it has already been 4 weeks and she still doesn't have any answers!! The radiologist is also wanting to start radiation on the tumors on her brain as soon as she is strong enough. She has really really been through the ringer the last few weeks and we are hoping that we are now on the up-hill climb!! I have let Mom know everyone on here is praying and thinking of her and she really appreciates that more than I can ever express to all of you! I promise to do a better job at keeping you updated :-) I have been working, going back & forth to the hospital and taking care of my 2 kiddos. I am sure you all know there is not much 'extra' time in the days. Thank you all once again for the thoughts and prayers. Please continue to remember her and my Dad, this is all been very hard on him; we are praying that God leads her to the doctors that are meant to treat her!! Thank you all & God Bless each of you!

Wow, your story touched me and brought tears to my eyes. I friend is very ill right now with a brain tumor herself, so your story touched me more deeply than it normally might have. I am praying for your mom and you and your family for a quick recovery. It's really scary when an illness involves your brain. I can't imagine what you are going through right now. But there are a lot of us out here, who have no idea who you are, yet we are touched by your story and are all wishing you guys the best!! Please tell your mom we are here, pulling for her!! Please keep us posted on her progress.

Please tell your mother that kazpooh is saying prayers for her recovery. Your mother saw me through a very rough time when my own mother was first diagnosed with cancer several years ago. I will never forget her kindness & I am so saddened that Brenda is going through her own battle now.

Good morning, everyone. I guess it is time I gave you all an update. Biopsy results finally came back and confirmed that she does have cancer on her lung. The doctors also did a 3rd spinal tap and the fluid did show cancerous cells; that means the tumors on her brain are also cancer. The doctors believe it started in the lung and spread to the brain. She has started radiation on the brain tumors. She is working on her 2nd week of treatment. Hopefully they will do another CT soon and will be able to tell if the treatment is working. She is still having very severe headaches, and is pretty much being kept sedated to try to ease that. Bless her heart, she is just in really bad shape right now and has been in the hospital for 2 weeks. It seems the doctors get one problem fixed and something else goes wrong. It is very discouraging for us and very hard for us to see her in this condition. She has never really been sick a day in her life, so I know it is very hard on her too!! I am trying my best to stay positive and help reassure my dad and Grandma (my Mom's mother). There are sooo many people praying for her and even though things look bad now it can turn around for the better at any given point. The power of prayer is an amazing thing! Please continue to pray for Momma, Daddy & Grandma. Daddy & Grandma are the ones with her on a daily basis and it is really starting to get to them. It is almost a 2 hour drive from our house to the hospital, and neither of them has been home in the 2 weeks time she has been at the hospital. I am hoping & praying that next time I post I will have some good!! I am passing all of the messages on to Momma! I remind her that all of you are praying & thinking about her!! She wanted me to let you all know how much she appreciates it!! (Thanks kazpooh!) God Bless you all.

I was so sad to read your last reply. I had prayed that those tumors were not cancerous and could be treated and eliminated. And maybe they can. Hoping for the best for your momma and family. Keep us up to date. Chris
