First thought:
Second thought: I wonder if he has been taking drugs (or whatever) to help keep him looking young (a pre occupation with him it seems). I think he looks like crap but hey, maybe some see it as youth?I know a lot of those kinds of things can cause a heart attack. Remember Phem Phem (or however it was spelled). Tons of people went on it to lose weight and then when young people started dying they had to pull it.

Seriously, look at all the crap he's done to himself over the years. It's a miracle he's still alive at all.

Editing to add that maybe it's not all that shocking. My father died of a heart attack at 49.

It does seem to follow the 3 rules doesn't it... Gosh Wonder how is family are holding up ?. They said they talked to his dad and he said he wasnt' doing well, but reports stated he was DOA once the EMTS went to his home. Reports also stated his Mom was rushing to the hopsital. So heart breaking to see a young man like him pass away and even at 60 yo with farrah she was always such a lady. Ryan was very lucky to have her for their 30 years together. The world is a sad place today.

Dh just called me and told me. I know he's gone mental here the past couple of years, but this is just so sad I almost want to cry. He was my first celebrity crush ever, and Thriller was the first music video I ever saw on MTV. I remember hiding a small tv under the blankets and turning the volume down really low so I could watch the AMA's on Tv when I was 12. I had to sneak watch because they were on past my bedtime. I also remember having a red pleather jacket with zippers all over it just because he had a similar jacket and I was SOOO in love with him. Booo Hooo!

LOL @ the jacket. When I was in the 3rd grade, I would argue my Mother down every day that yes, I was going to marry him when we grew up! I also begged her to take me to the Jackson 5 concert and was beyond angry when she refused!

He was my first celebrity crush, too. I play Thriller every day on my ipod in my car and turn it up WAY loud! I have shed many tears today.

Watched Al Sharptons news conference-why does he always have to bring race into everything? When he started bringing up race issues I turned the channel. Gesh.

Kathy its Al Sharpton everything has to do with race in his life. I wonder why he was speaking since he said he had not talked with the family. May Michael rest in peace.

Yes, I know. It just made me sick that he would use death to try and rile things up. It's totally inappropriate and disgusting to me. May Michael rest in peace.

I watched Larry King last night and heard tributes by Celine Dion, Cher, Smokey Robinson, and others. Michael was an amazing performer. They showed clips of him singing with the Jackson 5 and performing with Diana Ross and Cher. I loved Michael in the 80s when he sang Thriller, Billy Jean, and Rock With You. The world has suffered a great loss. It's so sad because he was preparing for his comeback tour in London.

I think that this should teach all of the young children a lesson. No matter how much money you have, happiness can still be out of your reach...
And you live a hard life, you can die young...

Boy, such special memories he holds. May he rest in peace.

Okay, on a side note, youngest DS said to us yesterday morning that he had heard Michael died Wednesday night. He said it was on some website he games on. We told him that we hadn't heard of anything. Kind of shocking yesterday afternoon when his death was reported. We're wondering now if they (family) were trying to keep it quiet or something. Kinda strange he heard it the night before.

So true what dannic said about having money, and being happy. Money does not guarantee any peace of mind or happiness. Michael definitely had some internal struggles that we may never understand. It seemed that he was never quite satisfied with his appearance, his family, never having enough money, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he was never quite satisfied with himself as a performer; feeling he could have always done it better.
I read today that he was millions in debt, and I would almost think that that isn't possible since he had to be a billionaire at one time. I'm not sure how that could have have happened, but I do think the financial stresses and the stresses of his upcoming tour had everything to do with his untimely death.

It's very sad. I do hope there's some money to divide among his three children to give them some financial security. It will be interesting to see who will get custody of the children. It may be hard for them as they have been in fantasy land for so long, but good in a sense now that they will live like a normal kid.

Well just never know what's going on in this super high profile cases. The thought actually crossed my mind last night - "I wonder if this is really true?" Normally I don't think such things. Then my oldest ds came over late last night and that's the first thing he said too-that he faked his death for privacy, etc...! I said how could that possibly happen and he said with money you can do about anything. Maybe he's off in Dubay and will be getting a total face transplant!! lol If we see the children then we will know for sure but if we never see the kids..........Conspiracy theorists unite! lol My son was studying the videos online and the body loaded into the helicopter had a blue strap over it but when it was unloaded it looked different. He said that's where they "switched" him. Funny but the sad thing is you just never know these days!

Actually the doctor was called to his place Wednesday night so maybe that was the initial rumor that flourished and made the internet claiming his death that night.

Unhappy

I just think all around the death of Micheal Jackson is so sad, it is also hard for me to totally understand his life. I know I always read growing up that his dad was extemely strict and often beat his children and then they started living and made money for the family. From the very start you knew Micheal was the one of the sons who was going to make it really big. I was watching him on Television last nite and saw him dancing he was so small yet his dancing skills were amazing and so was his voice. Then fast forward to all he did as a adult with his music and dancing. Then of course all the allegations of child abuse and courts and having to pay the family of the boy 22 millions dollars. Then of course the stunt where he held his newborn child over the gate of a hig building. Finally to his appearence with all the operations and his voice and his wearing a mask and I also remember where he has all his fingers tapped up. Now we hear about his doctor and so many medicine he was on. Again its a long complicated story. But in the end to me its truly sad... Peace. Catherine

I just don't get all the publicity. They make this man sound like a saint. All day long that is all I have heard about. I am sorry that he lost his life at such a young age, but I am sure that many other young caring individuals who contributed to the world lost their lives today. There are just way too many unanswered questions about his past to put this man up for sainthood. How many others lost their lives...how about servicemen, policemen, firefighters....real heros are gone?? Sorry...but it just really makes me angry that this man seems to be held in such high regard. As I grow older, I realize more that the real people we should look up to, rarely sing, dance, act or play sports!

Good points Tammyleeb. I feel it's societies pre-occupation with celebrity that actually causes stuff like this. I don't think he was a saint either. He was addicted to drugs, showed poor judgment on many occassions, etc... That being said he was a phenomenal performer and known the world over so naturally it's going to get mega coverage. Add in the sudden death and you've got a major story. Yes, it is the everyday heroes that don't get their fair share. God will reward them though!

Does anyone remember....didn't Michael have some sort of oxygen chamber that he was supposed to be preserved in when he died so he could supposedly be brought back after death? I'm guessing he won't get his wish since he was cut up in an autopsy, but I remember hearing that and when I asked DH he remembered hearing it too..
