Any University of Pittsburgh students (or parents) out there?

My daughter is interested in attending Pitt's nursing program; her long range goal is to actually become a nurse anesthetist. She is an exceptional student (#1 in her class with a GPA of 4.2). We live outside of Pittsburgh and although she initially didn't want to consider Pitt, she is now extremely interested, especially give that Pitt's nursing program is #6 in the country.

Any experiences at all to share?

I would think it is a nice school. Have you taken a tour with her yet? Ask lots of questions with the tour.

Tell her to check out University of Pennsylvania too. I loved it there!

She really isn't interested in being that far from home. Actually, schools in Ohio are closer than Drexel or University of Pennsylvania.

No direct experience, here, but I was surprised to read recently that Pitt is rated higher academically than Penn State. My family is filled with Penn Staters - maybe that's why I was surprised.....!!

That's interesting. I'm hearing more and more that kids want to go to college close to home. When I was college age, we couldn't wait to get away, LOL!

Pitt actually has the #7 nursing school in the country. Quite impressive!

We are going to visit Penn State this week, but I have a feeling it's going to be way too big for her.

We were actually there yesterday. It's a bit pricier than bit...$46,000 a year including tuition and room and board. YIKES!! It is on our list, however. I wasn't crazy about the area around there.
