hi i would stay faaaar away from penny stocks, but that is just me. we have some stocks that pay dividend every 3 months, love those. i think natural gas and energy stocks are good. i want to buy one stock in berk****e hathaway (warren buffets investment company) brk-b, waitting for the stock to go down, hoping for small crash in the stock market for one day. they don't pay dividend, but the price might go up to $4500, it is $29xx now. investing and personal finance forum web site Bogleheads Investing Advice and Info also yahoo/finance is a good source. Thanks for the website. We have money invested in "bigger" stocks, too, and agree that those are a better long-term investment. I am just going to play with a few hundred dollars in the penny stock deal - nothing I can't afford to lose, but might be fun to see some increases. I'm thinking of it kind of like Vegas money - only playing with a set amount. If I win, great. If I lose, that's okay, too. I will have enjoyed it.

I compare it to the slots at a casino, there's a one in a thousand chance you'll actually make something on it, but most times you're just wasting money. Especially these days where companies are going belly up all of the time. My dad gambled in these pennies for a while and never ended up with a whole lot. It's such a slim chance, I wouldn't waste my money. I was an IPO buyer in the late 90's and early 2000's and we did very well, but things aren't what they used to be.
