I was wondering how people felt about facebook?

Is it a great way to KIT? OR

Its annoying people ( like persona non grata ) from the past keep poping up?

I would appreciate your thoughts on this

It's a great way to keep in touch-people who kep popping up that you really don't want to hear about much, you can hide. They don't know if you hide them, or you can un-friend them and they won't know. You can set your settings very tight so only people you want can see your profile or pics. Or you can allow friends of friends to see, or everyone if you don't care. If you don't want ANYONE to be able to find you, you can set it up that way too. That way, you find them but if you have a problem with everyone from high school finding you, you can prevent that. You can also block certain people.

In the beginning, it's a lot of fun finding old friends and family. I just found a childhood friend and we've had such fun reminicing about our youth. Although I check it every day, I'm not on it nearly as much as when I first joined. It's a bit addicting at first. I don't get into all the extras-games, polls, quizzes-just not my thing and I ignore when people try to involve me in those things.

Try it out-you'll probably like it.

I like it for a quick touching base with friends and family. I like seeing simple posts and pictures that I wouldn't see otherwise. I hide the games, although I think they're a nice feature for people who like them. I have "unfriended" a couple of people when I found their posts offensive (swearing and drug related posts).

I belong to facebook and really enjoy keeping up with old friends that I haven't seen or talked to in years. I enjoy seeing their family pictures and hope they enjoy the few pictures of my family I've posted. My profile is set to private and I really never gave facebook much thought until last week when I was discussing it with a friend who was very upset over it. This friends does not want pictures of her 13 yr old daughter on the internet, period. She is adament about it. Well, it seems another friend of hers (someone I don't know) posted pictures that included her daughter on her facebook. This gal also posted something about my friend's daughter having surgery ~ it wasn't anything big, just a sentence about praying for so-in-so who is having surgery this week. Well, my friends daughter didn't want anyone outside of family and a couple of other people to know she was having surgery. She is 13 and this was very tramatic for her. She didn't want anyone from her school to know. Even though this friends facebook was set to private, other "friends" of hers are able to read the post and comment. The "other friends", some of who knew my friend, read the post and began calling my friend to find out what was going on. Needless to say, that innocent post caused a lot of stress for my friend and her daughter. A few of these people have children who attend school with the 13 yr old. Now they all know because their parents asked them if they knew about the surgery before they called my friend. Now my friends daughter will have to address this when she goes back to school ~ something she didn't want to have to do!

So be careful what you post on your facebook!

I LOVE it!!! I am able to communicate with my friends and relatives all over the US in Canada and in Italy. We share photos and everything else. It's so fun. I have a problem with strangers requesting me. I won't have people on there I don't know.

I hate the fact that now when you upload a pic to their site, any pic, even if it's your KID or DOG, they then OWN it and you don't!

I thought FB changed that in response to the screams about it?

I'll admit it. I'm a junkie.

It's actually become a very useful tool as my High School Reunion Committee is using it to plan our event in October, and it keeps everyone posted to what is going on.

I also love it because most of my family and friends live in Chicago, and I am out in VA now. I get to see pics, hear updates and joke around with everyone on a daily basis.

I personally love facebook, I also have reconnected with alot of old friends from growing up and also keeping up with family members. I am very addicted when it comes to pictures I love love posting pictures and I dearly love looking at pictures. I am not much for updating I hardly every do that, some people say hellow every day I do not do that. I answer a post when I feel its means something to me. I have some friends from here at the cafe and from another coupon site. I do not mind because I like to put a face to a member, besides I love to share all my family photos. I also did delete one member because she was the one who was always talking about getting drunk and drinking something I do not agree with. Otherwise its been wonderful. I have an account a like it a lot. It's helped me get in touch with friends from high school and back home that I've lost contact with since I moved. I'm careful what I post so I'm not to worried about that.

I am having fun with it. I have not gotten into the Mafia Wars (don't understand it), but am finding myself having fun taking little mindless quizzes, reaching out to ppl I haven't had in a long time, and keeping up w/ my college kid and all of his friends.

I love it and go on lots. I also ignore the quizzes and games.

I really like Facebook. I have re-connected with so many old friends. I am most excited about having reconnected with some of my old girlfriends, and in fact, I recently saw friends that I haven't seen in over 22 years! I have lived all over the US since graduating HS so I have friends all across the country. This is a great way to stay in touch with them. I have also been able to communicate with relatives that I haven't seen in 30+ years (gosh, I am showing my age)

I also like some of their online games. I am addicted to Mafia Wars. I really like Farkle and Bejeweled. I think I like the social aspect of the games. I get to chat with people all over the world.

I registered for an account awhile ago, but never did anything with it. My teenagers love it and are on there all the time. I used to think it was for kids, but then more and more adults I knew would say that they had a Facebook. I really just got on there about a month ago. I don't go on there much, but I like taking the quizzes and checking out friends photos. I just had two cousins get in touch with me via Facebook. I haven't talked to them in years. It was great to hear what they've been up to and see photos of their families. I really could take it or leave it...maybe because I don't know how to add pictures and do alot of things on there. I guess I could learn more about it if I wanted to. With all of the privacy settings, you can pretty much allow who you do and don't want to see your information. ~Lisa

Facebook is great I have found people I havent spoken to in 25 yrs. Its awesome and I pretty much gave up myspace for Facebook

I love the "how many people have your same name" "how Italian are you" and other quizzes.
