Ideas for a craft fair

Need to make some extra money and was thinking of doing Craft Fairs this fall. Any ideas of items I could make or sell. I really haven't gone to many so need ideas. TIA Cheryl

Do you sew? My son set up at craft fairs for several years. He made hemp jewelry and I made tote bags and other things for him to sell. The links are instructions that I've written to make wine bottle bags, tote bags, and hacky sacks. The big seller was the tote bags. He sold them for $10 and usually sold 10 at every craft fair. The last link is for a reusable shopping bag. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

It is very important to figure out whether the cost of materials, time, and cost of the table would warrant your efforts. I used to sell hand-painted children's clothes and when I finally tallied all the numbers, I made very very little. Working at McDonald's would have gotten me more cash in the end. I had fun though.

You also have to determine your "market". Festivals and craft fairs attract certain crowds. It's kind of trial and error to determine what works for you and what you sell. You will need to invest in some tables and a good canapy that easy to set up and take down. You will also need to register with the state and get a tax exempt number. Most places require your number on the registration form. I'll post more as I think of it.
