Since the last thread was closed because it was full, I'm starting a new one - Here is the last message from Brenda's Daughter:

Good morning, everyone. I guess it is time I gave you all an update. Biopsy results finally came back and confirmed that she does have cancer on her lung. The doctors also did a 3rd spinal tap and the fluid did show cancerous cells; that means the tumors on her brain are also cancer. The doctors believe it started in the lung and spread to the brain. She has started radiation on the brain tumors. She is working on her 2nd week of treatment. Hopefully they will do another CT soon and will be able to tell if the treatment is working. She is still having very severe headaches, and is pretty much being kept sedated to try to ease that. Bless her heart, she is just in really bad shape right now and has been in the hospital for 2 weeks. It seems the doctors get one problem fixed and something else goes wrong. It is very discouraging for us and very hard for us to see her in this condition. She has never really been sick a day in her life, so I know it is very hard on her too!! I am trying my best to stay positive and help reassure my dad and Grandma (my Mom's mother). There are sooo many people praying for her and even though things look bad now it can turn around for the better at any given point. The power of prayer is an amazing thing! Please continue to pray for Momma, Daddy & Grandma. Daddy & Grandma are the ones with her on a daily basis and it is really starting to get to them. It is almost a 2 hour drive from our house to the hospital, and neither of them has been home in the 2 weeks time she has been at the hospital. I am hoping & praying that next time I post I will have some good!!

I am passing all of the messages on to Momma! I remind her that all of you are praying & thinking about her!! She wanted me to let you all know how much she appreciates it!! (Thanks kazpooh!) God Bless you all.
Leslie, I hope the treatments help and your mom is able to get rid of those headaches. More prayers going out.

Leslie,

As the daughter of a woman who had lung cancer in both lungs that then traveled to her brain, please take care of yourself as you care for your Mom.

This doesn't have to mean a death sentence. 11 years, 3 surgeries, 1 and 1/3 less lung later my Mom is still alive and kicking.

Warm thoughts to your entire family.

Thank you dnj51 for posting this. I hadn't been on in a while so didn't see an update.

Please remember that you all need to take a break from things every once in a while to rejuvinate. Hoping someone can give your Dad and Grandmom a break from the hospital. They need it. I've been there several times, and know how taxing it can be.

thinking of your family and hoping for things to go in a positive direction.

I don't know Brenda, but I will say some prayers for her and her family. Lately all I keep hearing about are more and more people with the dreaded cancer. I hope that she fully recovers. She sounds like she is very well thought of on here. ~Lisa
