So cool! Reminds me of this one YouTube - Brian & Katie's Evolution of Wedding Dance

there always has been a relationship between music and religion so the use of music and dance at the wedding was certainly apt. However, this whole thing was less a celebration of the event, than a performance. I think it was the fact that they came down twice...AND the sunglasses that cheapened it to a performance for me

The thing is..............it was these people's wedding, their most joyous day in their lives so far, and if they wanted to do it this way, then more power to them! I am wondering, if any of you thought this was tacky, then how do you feel about some couples who bungie jump or skydive for their weddings? I think you've gotta do it the way you want because it is YOUR day! And apparently, these people did it right, because this video went viral so fast---and became such an internet hit----and the whole world is admiring their dancing! It was DEFINITELY a celebration and a spectacularly fun performance. In fact, its the headline on CNN.com this morning! WOW! I watched it again and smiled and cried, it was so touching for me. Makes me wish *I* would have done something like for for my wedding! |

I had my 16 yr old DD look at this thinking I was being old fashioned. However, she didn't like it any better than I did. I know that this would not have happened in my Baptist church. |

I don't understand why you feel this way--I hope this type of celebration is not disrespectful to you? I think if the pastor/preacher/reverend said it was okay to have this type of wedding in the church, then it must be okay? ..........down at the end of our road, at the church of my husband's family, who are hard core Baptists, they sing and dance, and have a good time. They get downright LOUD sometimes! And my cousin, who got married in the 1990, at another Baptist church not far from here, they had something similar to this wedding entry---they played that "going to the chapel and we're gonna get married song" as the flower girl, little ring bearer, bridesmaids and groomsmen came in doing their own type of jig. My cousin, the bride, walked down the isle, she didn't dance, until after the kiss, on the way down the isle OUT of the church! And then they ALL danced on the way back out, right into the reception hall where things got wild. So I don't know what kind of Baptist church you go to, but down here in the south, they sometimes parrrrtay! And that is a joyous thing. |

I loved the wedding procession, thought it was way fun and it made me wish I knew these people. I think also, however, that this type of entrance would not be considered appropriate at many churches. I predict that the priest at the church I belong to would suggest to save it for the reception. Hopefully, the wedding party cleared it all before hand. The woman officiating did not seem surprised or displeased. Bet there will be many copy-cat type weddings to follow.

Not sure my Catholic church would go for it, but I loved it! I wish they did things like this back when I got married twenty years ago. They seemed to be having so much fun. I say it's their day...if this is what they want to do...go for it! I sent this to a few people...they all loved it! ~Lisa |

I really loved that this couple was able to approach the ceremony itself with such open joy. Most of the couples I have married have been sooooo nervouse before the ceremony (will I trip walking down the aisle, into the Circle, whatever AND the most prevelent, especially for the grooms, is the discomfort of having to speak in front of a crowd - nerve-wracking stuff on this important day!) So I found it really refreshing to see the couple and their friends approach the ceremony itself with such joy and high spirits! I have to add that I LOVE marrying couples no matter how nervous or reserved they are during the ceremony - it always turns out special and uniquely their own :-)
