coupon heads up

As you know I work in a grocery store and there are so many counterfit coupons out there right now that the companies are getting tough and fighting back.
There is a coupon being passed on the net that we are instructed to call the police if someone tries to pass it. It is a pepsi coupon and there is a $2,500.00 reward if you catch someone passing it!
This coupon has been laundered thru many sites so I can not tell you where to look for this bad coupon, just be careful of all coupons that you get on the net. My company is also not taking internet coupons over a dollar or free.

I haven't seen any pepsi coupons. I don't like pepsi anyways.......but how much was it for? I remember a couple of yeara ago, a bunch of coupons were going around, bad ones....some were for like $4, or $6 off, certain items. Forgot what, stuff like dog food maybe? Can't remember---but I didn't use printable coupons back then.

Now I DO print them, through MyPoints, for groceries and stufff. Surely it must be easy to counterfeit this type of printable-- no wonder bad ones go around. It IS a shame. But it seems like it is harder than ever to get coupons from manufacturers. As if they don't distribute them as freely as before........ maybe it's just my location and even in our Sunday paper most of the there are NO coupons in there. You have to buy the expensive $1.75 paper from the next big city over to get them. And what good is spending nearly $2 to save $2? Doesn't make much sense. Nowadays, I email companies to tell them I do or do not like their product. They appreciate the GOOD emails too, not just the complaints---and 90% of the time, a week later, I'll receive a thank you letter via snail mail with some kind of freebie coupon or other discount in it. :-) It pays to compliment, as well as complain these days!

Who is your company? A $2500 reward seems excessive when they could have gotten the same results for $100 - or for free. All they had to say was all Pepsi coupons must be cleared by the manager - no exceptions.

Since the coupon has been laundered through so many sites, calling the police on every innocent housewife who tries to use it seems excessive too and would get them sued. What does the Pepsi coupon you're looking for say and how would someone know the difference between it and a real coupon?

This is another case of the few spoiling it for the many. A couple of years ago people would travel around taking every wine tag they could get their mitts on. Yes, they actually made trips to strip the store of any and all. Regular shoppers then had none available and the wine companies caught on.

On the occasion I see one now, it is always tied to the wine purchase specifically.

I shop at WinCo and they only accept coupons from magazines, newspaper and mailings.... nothing that is printed out. Such a bummer.

I agree with deddlastt, it is the few who have ruined it for many. So irritating!
