We are home from a wonderful six week trip. We have now been in 49 states, just have Hawaii to go. Our sixteen year old grandson went with us and brought a lot of fun along. We happened across a great National Monument that we had never heard of and turned out being one of our favorite places. Craters of the Moon is in Idaho and is extremely interesting and fun. We spent the Fourth of July with relatives that we hadn't seen in many years and our grandson had never met. They live in California on the Sacramento River and threw a great party including jet skiing and fireworks and some great food. We met DH's brother's granddaughter who is 18 months old and a little doll. And we found out that she will have a sibling just about the time of her second birthday. We also visited with an old high school friend of DH's. They hadn't seen each other in 50 years.
I could go on and on but I won't bore you any longer!

I think I want to go to Hawaii but I have a few friends who have gone and did not like it. They said when you get off the 'tourist path' you see lots of poverty and homeless people. But we saw that in Seattle too so guess it's everywhere.
I will write another travel story soon.

We went to Kauai and it was not too bad. We did see some areas that were a bit run down, but nothing awful. I saw worse when I was in Alaska. We went to the island of Kauai because people said it was the least touristy. It was beautiful!
