Three Tough Days of Weather

We're on a roll here. Wednesday we had one of the only tornado Warnings we've had since I moved here nearly 5 years ago. No tornado, thank goodness, but a really bad thunderstorm and lots of wind.

Thursday they didn't even have time to get the warning out before a tornado was spotted in the southern part of my town. Again, no tornado here but we did get two lightning strikes that hit right across the street from my house. The thunder was incredible!

I thought yesterday was going to be quiet but a storm hit us around 7 last night. Nothing as bad as the previous 2 days. It left us with this.

Now we're watching two tropical systems out in the Atlantic.
Ana

and an unnamed system that will probably become Bill later on today.

Fun times in central Florida.

Thanks for sharing. You take such beautiful pictures!

BTW, I like Florida...to visit...sure wouldn't want to live there though. LOL I think huricanes are enough to deal with...you shouldn't have to worry about tornados, too!

We're actually closer to Tampa than Orlando. I live in a small town called Auburndale. It's located between Winter Haven and Lakeland.

Here's everything you ever wanted to know about my town.

Beautiful picture!

Wow, scary weather! Glad you are okay. Hopefully all those systems in the Atlantic fizzle out and not hit land.

But wait! There's more.

This area isn't named yet and basically just sprung up during the past few hours. The weather people had been calling it a tropical wave but now it appears to have some rotation. We're over 350 miles from the keys but the wind has been constant all day. Nothing serious but it is noticeable.

The tropics are certainly getting busy.

Virgo, that Tornado warning was scary for sure. I knew we were close to you but not that close Mom's house is in Winter Haven off Thornhill and Spirit Lake and we shop at the Auburndale Walmart all the time. We settled on our new home Wednesday and its in Lake Wales so we wont be going to Auburndale much more after we get fully settled in here September 1st if not next weekend.

The storms we had last nigh knocked out the power at moms and my one kitty hid in the closet she didnt like the thunder too much.

As always I love your pictures.

You are close. I'm in Winter Haven a lot and I practically live at the Walmart in town. I haven't been down to Lake Wales yet. About how far from WH is that?

Tonight's storm was a dud in comparison to the past couple of nights. Good! My blood pressure needed a rest.

Good luck with your new house.

Lake Wales is where Bok Tower is.... Where we are is off 27 if you go down Cypress Gardens Blvd pass Cypress Gardens to Rte 27 turn Right and we are not too far from Eagle Ridge Mall and the Flea Market its real quiet out there.

Tonights storm wasnt too bad until it knocked the electricity out and then took 1/2 an hour to get Cable back online I hate Brighthouse its so slow in getting back online.

As much as I like Florida and think it so scenic, I know I could never live there as hurricane season would put me over the edge! I sure hope you never see any horrible effects of a hurricane. I never thought that the effects of a hurricane could reach the midwest, but we unfortunately got hammered last September which caused terrible flooding in our area (three solid days of rain). Never in a million years would I have called that one.

Does anyone else think the weather is getting more off kilter with each passing year?
