Well today (actually yesterday but I'm still up) is my 53rd birthday! My youngest son is off to college in California, my oldest just got married and this is my first week of empty nesting! It's going pretty good so far. When I said goodbye to my son I waited until the car was out of sight to break down and cry. No way was I going to be a crying mom as he and his dad drove off for the airport. His dad took him since the flight he wanted was a direct flight and the closest airport for that was 110 miles away (one way). His dad and I are divorced so they had some one on one time. And last weekend was my 35th class reunion. It's a good thing I have a pretty good attitude or I think a person could get really depressed with all these changes! And man my classmates looked old!!! lol I'm not even sure why I started this thread! I guess I'm just amazed at how quickly time passes!!! I remember, when my oldest was little, my mom telling me they grow up so quickly.....it's so true!

Yesterday was my mom's birthday too, she turned 54.

We're broke right now, so instead of buying a present I went over and steam cleaned her carpets for her...lol

Aw Kathy I did not know it was your birthday cjs216 normally takes care of posting everyones birthday, however she has not been on, anyway HAPPY AND HEALTHY BIRTHDAY AND MAY ALL YOUR BIRTHDAY WISHES COME TRUE ENJOY ALWAYS.... On a personal note which is your son getting married which of course it always bittersweet, happy for the marriage but its another chapter in his and your life. Then your other son leaving again bittersweet something all us parents have to deal with and can always understand. Kathy do you have any close friends that perhaps you can be with , perhaps you can go for lunches or dinners or movies or shopping.. Also Kathy is there anything you wanted to do around the house that you have been putting off... Thanks! I'm fine. I had already made mental plans of things to do to keep me busy, etc... I was prepared for this, as prepared as you can be anyway!! Changes always take awhile to get used to!
