Mega Millions is 325millions, WWYD if you won???

The Mega Millions lottery for tomorrow has a jackpot of 325 million dollars.... what would you do if you won it???

First I would take a leave from work until my head clears and I can get my affairs in order. then i would take care of my kids, my father, brother and neices and nephews and certain friends. I would have my dream house built and give some to charity.

With my luck, have a heart attack and die

Seriously. Lay low for a long while. Help out a bunch of friends. Follow Pearl Jam on their tours. Do a bunch of fundraisers. Buy some land and have my own little commune

I would.. fix up this old house I have and start renting it out. Then I would buy a large plot of land with a house.. or without and have one made there. I would go around buying some homes and fixing them up for renting out. Then I would Help out some random families.. with food, clothing money.. anything! And help out some animal charities ( not peta though!)

First off I would pay the I R S in full. Pay all my bills in full. Take several millions in cash and become invisible to do what I want when I want it. I would give a childhood friend a million in cash to spend as he wants. He supported his mother and brothers fully without complaint as a teen and that in it's self deserves a million.
I would never be employeed again.

Build my mother the house she want's with WHAT EVER she wants in it and on it, and hire people to take care of it for her. Buy my 84 year old friend a new car and pay the insurance and up keep and pay her DR bills so she can get the meds she needs. Hire someone to care for my handicapped spouse. Buy a BUNCH of purses. Go on a long trip to Alaska. Then I would take a breather and hibernate a while and decide what to do next.

Edited to add that it is gonna be pretty hard for me to win the lottery as I don't buy tickets.

Buy a large parcel of waterfront land. Build a beautiful home with separate units for guests and domestic workers.

Take a bunch of family and friends on the best cruise that money can buy. I would book the largest cabin for myself and get everyone else cabins with lanais.

325 million.

I would give

1 Million to the Autism research center.
1/2 Million to the Kidney foundation.
250 K to Breast Cancer research center.
250 K to Childhood Cancer research.
250 K to The Shrine's Cripple- Burn Center Hospitals.
250 K to the center for abuse children
250 k to woman's abuse center
50 K to local food banks
50 k to my home town food bank
50 K to the Easter Seal

20 K for the Cub Scouts
20 K EACH to each of the schools my children attend

I would then
Hire a home nurse for my Mother, A private driver and a nice van with a wheel chair lift. A full time cleaning lady and a full time cook.

I would then take whats left and

Set a fund up for the care of my son once we pass, I want to make sure he's taken care of for the rest of his life and not have to live in a state ran group home.

Set up a college fund for my last 3 children that are able to attend college.

Then its all for me and hubby to enjoy.

Have my husband to retire.

take him on the vacation he's never had in all those years while he was working.

hire a yardman so my husband never has to work in the yard in the hot sun for the rest of his life.

Buy my dream home in the county on land that has the biggest, most beautiful golden maple trees. Lots of wild flowers and nothing but clean air for miles and miles.

And finally

Buy the best bottle champagne and have a toast with my husband on our new, worry free life.

Wow, I think Sunsetbeach has the right idea. Give first, then take care of your needs/wants. This may sound crazy, but I think that insane amount of money could actually ruin a person's life (I know, many want to sign up to see just how out of control things can get).
I think there are many things I would do like buy a huge acerage out in the middle of nowhere with a nice house with of course, horses and cows. Take care of some family for sure, but also I would seek out families that are in desperate need of financial assistance. I know I would get the most satisfaction out of helping them, and knowing that I made a huge difference in their life.

1. Give a nice sum to my favorite charities and tithe.
2. Pay all my bills and help family members/friends pay their immediate bills.
3. This may sound unusual but start a diet/exercise program for my family. Whether it be WW, JCraig or hire our own personal trainer.
4. Travel to places I have longed to visit.

I know there are more things but these are the top ones for me. Otherwise I am pretty content.

Doesn't "Fletchulence Field" sound a little too much like "Flatulence Field"? You might want to reconsider that one.

I'd pay off friends' and family members' cars, to take some stress off as many people as I could quickly. Then I'd probably panic, and seek a financial adviser. Yeah, I know, the immediate altruism is lacking, but if I had that much money I'd want to handle it well before doing much else. I would like to fix up one of the animal control centers around here, though.

Buy a vacation home in Maine and Sanibel Island. Give my parents 1M, my in-laws 1M, my sister 1M, and my sister-in-law 1M, and create a charitable organization with the rest. I would also like to just surprise some people with a nice sum of money. I think giving it away would be the most fun!!

I wouldn't donate money right off the bat - I would take the money I received (after taxes take their chunk) and set it up in a way to generate more more money... that way I would have a continuous stream of income to donate or do what I wished.

First I would form a trust (and include my family members so as to avoid being double taxed) so that I could collect in the name of the trust through my attorneys to avoid the publicity and subsequent harassment. There are also tax benefits to a trust.

I would pay off my car and house and pay my son's college tuition. I would buy a house in La Pine OR and one in a rural area of California and one in San Francisco.

I would travel to Italy and Hawaii and buy a motor home for camping.

I would set up charitable foundations with the major one being dedicated to working people and people who have recently lost their jobs to help with any unforeseen expenses that can really hurt a working family.

I would set up a foundation for animals where I would pay college tuition to veterinary students to live on acreage with caretakers and abandoned animals. We would bring children in for the weekends that normally don't get to be around animals. We would set up opportunities for children to have animals and earn the food and medical care by "volunteering".

We would have programs to help people get on their own two feet and provide for themselves. We would help them overcome the obstacles to their success.

I also have three inventions I would create hundreds or thousands of jobs in communities around the country by opening factories to make them and stores to sell them.

I would also live a life of pleasure and luxury with lots of designer clothes and shoes and purses that would make Imelda Marcos jealous God rest her soul.

I would have a master suite outfitted as a closet so I could go in there for my two hours in the morning and do everything in there.

I would have a lake a pool a windmill a classic Shelby Mustang and a brand new one. I would have a jet ski a boat a snowmobile an organic greenhouse, solar power, my own water supply and a large treehouse.

I almost forgot I would have my breasts lifted and the fat sucked from my thighs butt and spare tire.

Well, that's part of the joke we all shared when he was still here. My nephew and Fletcher were picking on each other one day and Fletcher was calling his cousin More Rice (because his name was Maurice), Maurice got tired of it and the next time Fletcher called him more rice, he said "shut up flatulence". At the time it was hilarious.. and even Fletcher thought so. But, not wanting to be outdone he said "that's Fletchulence to you". Then he gave it his own definition.. it was the art of being Fletcher. He used Fletchulence as his nickname from then on. That's why it's special to us.

I would do many things, alot of traveling, I would help my parents and family members I would buy my children their own homes. I would build my own dream french country cottage home and fill it to the brim with old antiques old linens and totally decorate it in french country cottage shabby chic. I would also buy a custom made turquoise or robins egg color blue jaguar . But besides all those things I would donate alot of money to stop animal and child abuse. I also would buy a huge huge farm to bring all the abused animals and give them a wonderful place to live and run free from hurt and harm and have plenty of sheltland sheepdogs running around . Finally most important would be to donate money to find a cure for aids and also build a big wonderful home for aids patients who have no home or no one to love them.... Peace. Catherine

Easy. I would try to get over the shock without having a heart attack or stroke. Then, I would call in sick and find a good lawyer and investment professional.

From there who knows. Probably change my phone number and get a great security system for the house.

I would buy a large parcel of land 100+ acres and build houses for all my immediate family so we could all be near each other. The land would be deemed a reserve so all wild animals could be safe from hunters.

I would pay off all debts any family members have.

I would keep the San Antonio Food Pantry full, and hire an independent manager to over-see it's distribution.

I don't know how to do it, but I would set up some kind of charity to help the elderly obtain GOOD assisted living treatment when they have no funds and Medicare just places them in any fly-by-night center because it's "cost effective".

I would set up a fund so any and everyone can get their pet/s spayed or neuter for free.

I would set up some kind of fund to assist Middle Income kids who want to go to College, but their parents make "too much money" to get assistance, but live paycheck to paycheck making a college education inaccessible.

And lastly, I'll reserve about 100 mil to donate at election time to make sure Obama is NOT relected.

On the way to visit our DD and her family we drive thru a pretty wooded area.
There is a cute little church in the woods that is trying to collect enough money to build a new church. Every time we drive past this church I think of winning the lottery and then giving them (annonomously) (SP?) a big bag of cash!

I have two friends who I would love to be able to help out financially. Both are very deserving of some help.

I would give a good chunk of money to our brothers and our kids.
I'd pay off all of our bills and some of the bills of family and friends who might need it.

There are several charities that I would donate to.

I'd fix up our house for sale and then sell it.
I'd have a custom made motor home built and buy a small convertible (color coordinated with the RV, of course) to pull behind. (Sightseeing is much better in a convertible!)

DH and I would then set off to see the USA and Canada.
We'd stop at DH's brother's in CA and leave the RV there for a few weeks while the four of us cruised to Hawaii

PS I'd also add a bunch to Mary's donation!!!

We were talking about this at work the other day.

I said I'd keep coming to work just to see exactly what I'd have to do to get fired and how long it would take. I wouldn't do anything really bad such as stealing, cussing out a customer, starting a fight, etc., I'd just do exactly what I felt like and nothing else. I want to see just how many write ups, counselings, etc it would take before they show me the door.

Once I was no longer employed, I'd have a huge house built somewhere the weather is nice year round. It would have everything you can think of. There would be an open invitation to family and friends to come and stay anytime, on my dime. I'd have plenty of acerage there so I could have horses, cows or whatever strikes my fancy. Plus I'd have a staff to take care of it all because I'm going to travel a lot.

I wouldn't give any cash to my family because then they'd have to pay taxes on it but I would buy everything such as houses and cars, and let them use them but technically the stuff would be mine. I'd also give them credit/debit cards that were linked to my account so they could use the money without actually "owning" the money, thus avoiding the tax issue. Don't get me wrong, I think taxes should be paid on income but the idea that I would pay taxes on the winnings when I get it and then my family would pay taxes again on the same money when they get it as a gift is unfair IMHO. The gov't should only get one dip in the money pool.

I'd probably start a couple charites too. Not sure what but definately one for animals and probably one to help people out of poverty thru working and learning marketable skills.

Finally, a total body overhaul to get rid of my extra poundage including as much liposuction as is physically possible. Then a personal chef to make yummy, healthy food I'll actually want to eat and a trainer to help me achieve/maintain a healthy lifestyle.
