Today is my bday and It is the first day of being a senior citizen and the first day of social security. I have a lot to celebrate.

Yeah, I turned 62 in February. Collecting my social security sure helps our financial situation since DH is on ss disability

Can I ask a question? My dh was put on disability about 5 years ago after a illness. He was 52. What happens when he turns 62? Does he get social security or disability? His is a permanent disability.

DH also turned 62 this year and his benefit amount stayed the same. But I don't know what will happen when he turns 65 since that is his actual retirement year. His disability is a little more than the normal retirement amount so we're hoping it doesn't get lowered
