it's a good reminder. I am a member and get updates. We have a man 3 houses down on the list. I told the neighbors before his wife did because I got alerted. His wife was surprised because it was on there the day after he was convicted (no jail time) and she was going to go to tell the next door neighbors and they already knew. We also have 2 guys in their 40's who are on the list that moved in with their parents who live in our neighborhood. One is by the pool...which I hate. They can look out their window and watch everyone at the pool....

Children need to be taught to be aware of their surroundings, never go in a stranger's house/car, etc. Just because a specific house is pointed out to them doesn't mean the person lives there, doesn't mean there isn't another offender living nearby, and doesn't keep kids safe. It also doesn't protect them from anyone who hasn't been caught and thus, isn't on the list The best method is to teach them awareness and prevention all the time, everywhere on a level basis. dl |
