Do you want to live to 100 years old?

I have been hearing a lot about this topic here and there then I saw a magazine article " how to live to 100 " and then I thought hum how many people actually want to live to be 100 years old?

It would be great if I was still very capable at 100 but the elderly I now have very poor quality of life bed ridden, alzameirs, demntia, really sad stuff so in that light no I don't.

how about you ?

I don't know. I've thought about that before. My grandmothers lived to be 84 & 87.

The one that lived to be 87 was driving (only around town, no real distance) up until about 6 months before she died. She was very active and sharp.

My other grandma, the one who lived to be 84 was very active up until about age 80, then she had a rough last few years. One thing I noticed about both of them was both of their husbands were gone for lots of years before them and a lot of their friends were gone before them. I think that would be a very sad part of it...losing so many people close to you...

No I would not like to live to be 100, don't even want to be 90. Enough is enough. Both the body and the mind in most cases are shot by then. Family if you have any left will be busy taking care of their immediate families and not have time for "old super granny", your friends will all be dead and you will suffer aches and pains and no one wants to hear them.

I don't think anyone would want to live to be 100 if they're not fairly healthy in body and mind.

My in-laws are both 84 and still going strong -- in body and mind

My MIL goes to the casino at least twice a week and bingo at least twice a week. She still drives and she and my FIL have very strong support from the family so they are happy with their lives. They live in their own home (but my SIL's family does live upstairs so they're always around to help).

My prayer is that they both pass quickly and peacefully when the time comes

At 47, I have aches and pains everyday, nothing big just annoying. My eyesight is poor and I have allergy/sinus issues and I'm always tired...so no, I don't want to live another 50+ years feeling like crap.

If I'm healthy and active, yes. My father-in-law is 95. He still heads up a local volunteer group in Washington DC, and has lots of friends and family around. He has a computer and knows how to use it. He has a touch of arthritis in his knees, but other than that is doing really well physically. Mentally, he's all there.

If I can be like him at that age, it would be great!

In a word, no. At 49 I already have several health issues and I don't see things getting any better.

It would depend on what my quality of life would be. If I can live independently then I would say yes, if I would be in a nursing home drooling on myself then no.

It depends.
I don't want to live without my DH so when he goes I guess I'd like to go too.
Howwever.............. I'd like it to be in our mid to late 80's at least.
We square dance and so many of our friends are in their eighties and still dance and some dance a lot more than we do in our 60's! So if we can keep up with our friends, I hope we live long and happy lives together.

I want to live as long as I possibly can as long as I'm not in any pain and still have my hearing and sight.I have close relatives that have lived well past a hundred and were still living active healthy lives up until their death so it is possible.

If I had a decent quality of life then yes, I would.

If I live to be 100, I'm going to take up drinking and smoking. Just how much is it going to shorten my life at that point, lol!
