Smackdown in the Senate?

I'm sure some of you have read that the owner/CEO of the World Wrestling Entertainment, Linda McMahon, is running for Senate....

What do you think?

Frankly, I think she could better than some. I think she's uniquely qualified in that she runs a multi-million dollar company. Actually, I think she probably could handle a lot of things/issues that others have dropped or mishandled. And really, she and her family shouldn't have a lot of skeletons in the closet (so to speak) that will come out and bite them in the butt.

Just my opinion I could be wrong!

Peter Schiff also announced that he is running for that same Senate seat in Connecticut.

Rand Paul is also running for the Senate in Kentucky

At this point, I'm willing to vote for anyone who has morals, values, respect, common sense, who is a genuinely good person, someone who is just an all around "normal" person and has this country in their best interest and will represent The People honestly. Someone whose agenda is not only for themselves but for fairness and what is right. I know this is a hard one to wish for, but this country was founded by regular people who got together and hashed it out and came away with a compromise, just like we tell our kids to do when they both want the same thing. I teach my kids civility, respect for one another and compromise, but both sides our Congress at this time are not doing a good job of reiterating the point I'm trying to drive home to my kids. I'm pretty sad about all of what's going on.......from BOTH sides.

But how do you tell if someone has morals, etc....each person thinks their candidate does. That is why we are so polarized in this country. The refusal to think that the other candidate might also want the best for the country. Each side is so sure the other side is hiding some nefarious secret and goes to great lengths to try and prove that the 'other' side is no good and is corrupt. Both sides do this...or the radically rabid do. I prefer to think that all of the major candidates do have the countries best interests at heart until proven otherwise. When GW Bush was president, anyone who disagreed with him was called unpatriotic and should move to France and most certainly if they didn't respect him they should respect the office of the Presidency. Lately, those same people are most vehement in not respecting the office of the Presidency but haven't been told they are unpatriotic or should move to......its so hard, isn't it?

Anyway, I agree. I want to vote for someone who reflects me and who is going to be honest and forthright. Someone who wants unite us and not divide us.

Yea, we won't really KNOW who has good morals. You are right. One of the Senators from our state ran here on family values and then got wrapped up in a Prostitute up there in Washington shortly after arriving, so, really you don't know.

But surely we still have good people here in the USA. I have to have faith in that. Or else I will go crazy.

No more citizen statesmen (or women), just professional politicians.

Heavy psi.

I respect the office, but I don't have to respect the person/man in the office.
I think the current President is not doing a good job---I don't think he should have been elected. I think that he's doing a disservice to the office that he was elected to.

And I said the same thing about Bush
Maybe, just maybe, President Obama will improve with age. One can hope.

Vitter, R, La. Your state has had more than its share of corruption.

Right now, the spotlight is on mine. Our governor is so special.

Yep, our state has always been a little on the corrupt side, look at our past Governor Edwards. He's still in prison......... Our last 3 Insurance Commissioners, convicted. Ugh. Gov. Blanco couldn't find her a$$ with both hands when Katrina hit. Talk about a mess there..........

Without knowing anything about you, I'm going to guess your state is S. Carolina.

Oh God no, corrupt as long as I can remember. I hope Jindal does a good job. He has done better than any of the last few for sure so far. But it's like I said before, I just have to believe that there's still GOOD out there. It may be naive on my part, but it keeps me going.
