Anyone ever heard of them? I got an email from pinecone today (which I haven't been a member of for months, btw) asking me to join. I don't want to do anything I am not comfortable with so I wanted to know if anyone here has heard of/had any experience with these guys. They ask you to download their software after you register, which is another reason I am leery.

Yea me too...just a little concerned about the download of software.

I received the e-mail also and did not join, and also removed my name from the Pinecone mailing list. Neilson does not give rewards like Pinecone, they supposedly just enter you in a sweepstakes. OK for others, not worth my time.

Pinecone doesn't give rewards anymore, either. Just entries in drawings...

I figure heck if I am sitting here and have the time, why not. If I am busy I just won't do it.
Took forever filling everything out tho since i have 6 kids at home!

I received $3 on 9/8/09 and $3 on 9/12/09 for surveys I did

I skip the surveys that only get you an entry in a drawing. Fortunately, they tell you upfront that the "reward" is a drawing entry.

Whoa...I just uninstalled the software and left the group, and was just sent an email telling me that if I rejoin and stay for 30 days, I will get $10. I don't know if it's true or not but if it is, it sounds kinda desperate and makes me wonder why they didn't just offer people that to sign up originally instead of just the entries in the sweeps.


And Kelly, it's been so long I forgot about that. I know they used to pay $5 and went to $3 and had left then, and heard they had went to just sweeps entries so I didn't know it wasn't true.

Pinecone does still give rewards. I have received several $3 checks in the mail in the past week. They do indeed still pay for surveys.
