| $ $ $ - Part 2
They locked the first thread but I wanted to respond.
I wanted to thank everyone for their comments, even the slightly mean ones. They don't bother me because like I said we get "O".
I can tell by the responses that some people just 'get it' and some don't. I will just say that my son is a full time job with all the appts, IEPS, and just his day to day care.
I see that many people went off track and were commenting about getting a job and that I am lazy and just don't want to work . . . I don't really think that was the point and some people got it. My point was completely about disability benefits, this service, IHSS:
In-Home Supportive Services - The IHSS Program will help pay for services provided to you so that you can remain safely in your own home. To be eligible, you must be over 65 years of age, or disabled, or blind. Disabled children are also eligible for IHSS. IHSS is considered an alternative to out-of-home care, such as nursing homes or board and care facilities. The types of services which can be authorized through IHSS are housecleaning, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, personal care services, such as bowel and bladder care, bathing, grooming, accompaniment to medical appointments, and protective supervision for the mentally impaired to safeguard from self injury or hazard.
I guess I shouldn't have named the thread $$$, but IHSS either gives you the money as the caregiver/provider or gives you the money to pay someone to provide the services.
I am just frustrated because my son does qualify and we need some of the IHSS services but we get "O". I just don't see it as sponging off the government but some people do, that's ok, everyone can have their own opinion.
