Pashmina needs rescuing!

I have a white 70/30 Pashmina that has teensy spots of tar on it. Have searched the web but not found any info on whether or not I can remove the tar without killing fabric.
Anybody out there have experience with this kind of predictament?
TIA.

My husband works for the highway dept and I wash his pants (covered in tar) in hot water and tide but the pashmina would get ruined and lose its' shape and color.

try this I googled "how to remove tar from delicate fabrics" found this Heloise page
