Hi Anna, My friend, Laura, sells Avon. I can't remember the percentage, but I think it's 15% of so? My other friend sells Tupperware and she is making about $1,000 per month. She does a lot online and has really approached it like a part-time job for extra money while she stays home with her 1 year old twins. If you are aggressive and really work it, I think you can make some decent money with those types of things. Maybe you could represent a few of them?

I sell AVON and it depends on how much you sell, how much you make. If you would like to email me directly you can at hammonds@sirinet.net and I can answer any questions you have. When you first start out you make 40% on your first 4 campaigns (2 week time period) if you sell over $100, then after that it goes by the amount you sell. You can have a website in addition to selling in person, but you cannot just sell by website. I usually make in the 40% range.

Not to disparage Avon or Tupperwares or any other home sales. I avoid them like the plague and any family member, friend, or neighbor who approaches me with this sort of thing is avoided at all cost. However, good luck if you choose that road. Many people do experience success. |

I sold Avon for almost 14 years and never made a dime. In my experience, people want their items now and don't want to wait. Plus, they don't do any home parties so it was really hard to network. That being said, I now sell Scentsy. What a difference! I've made more in one month than I did in 14 years. Also, with Avon it is hard to build a downline because you don't have to sign up under someone. With Scentsy, you have to sign up under another consultant. I started with Scentsy in Feb. 2009. I now have 10 members on my team and yesterday closed my month with team sales of $8,600.00 and that is going to put $1300.00 in my pocket for the month. If you don't have anyone under you, you make 20% commission until you reach $1000 in sales and then it goes to 25% guaranteed. If you have any questions, let me know. Amy |

Lots of people do home parties with AVON, they also have eparties and book parties now, you can also set up at different places like fairs, craft shows and that type thing if you want to. All these are new from the first time I sold also. The first time I sold, I sold for 10 years. AVON also has people that can sign up under you, but they have to be able to sign them up in person, once you have 5 people in your "downline" you start earning a portion of what they sell also. aspeed, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but why would you sell something for 14 years if you didn't make any money at it? Just really curious? I have not made less than 35% on any campaign I have sold.

I have a friend that sells Mary Kay and my daughter used to sell Pampered Chef, I also have a friend that sells Pampered Chef and she does very well with it. Of course those are home party type things, so it depends on if you want to do alot of home parties. I can't believe no one else has any input or sells anything else. Surely someone sells something.

Yes, they do have great products! They have come a long way since the first time I sold. What type things does Scentsy have? I delivered some AVON to someone today and she had just got a Scentsy thing today delivered also and it was an electric warmer type thing that warms by a lightbulb. I have actually never heard of Scentsy until she mentioned it today, then you mentioned it here, so tell me more. I'm guessing it's home fragrance type things?

Hi Penny, The Scentsy System is an electric warmer that uses either a 25, 20 or 15 watt lightbulb to melt wax. The wax doesn't get hot enough to burn (I stick my fingers in it all the time at shows because it's funny to see people's freaked out faces! LOL) so it's great if you have smaller children/pets. Also, the wax doesn't evaporate, just the scent, so you don't have to worry about breathing that in. And because it is run by lightbulb, there is no soot, flame, lead wick, or smoke. My husband is VERY happy about that since he hates painting!!! We have over 40 warmers and plug ins and over 80 scents and it's one of those products that really does sell itself. If you have any other questions about it...let me know. We also have online sales as well. I do still use Avon all the time. Just got a shipment in from my friend... ![]() Amy |
