sick baby

Baby Anakin started spitting thick phlegm the other day and his forehead was wrinkling and staying that way, I thought he was dehydrated and his mom called the dr and she said to take him to the hospital as she thought he may have viral pneumonia.
Well they took him and the dr were not so concerned with that as they were of his temp that was 95 rectally . The reasons that he was brought to he hospital were NEVER mentioned again. He was immediately tested for hypothermia!
Today is his third day at the hospital and this is what they have found so far
Hypothyroidism
Heart murmur
Hypothermia
He has lost weight weighed 10.8 sept 17 weighs now 10 pounds
menengitis
He is on tamiflu and that is what they give you for h1n1 but they said that they gave him that as a precaution
Low blood sugar
AND THEY ARE STILL TESTING.
He is three months old and could use any and all prayers.
TIA

Thanks for the prayers. He is intensive care and they have ruled out the menengitis. They said when he first came to hospital he was unresponsive and lathargic.

Anakin is home and they found that he does not have menengitis or hypothyroidism thank God but he is still a sick baby. He must remain tightly wrapped in a blanket and the house temp must be kept at 75-80 degrees and he can not appear in public until he can retain his body temp. This is due to his chronic hypothermia. He is on many meds but they feel that he is on the road to recovery.
Things can happen so fast so hug your kids today and thanks again for your prayers and good wishes.

My dd had no hypothalamus (can never remember how to spell that!) gland so she couldn't regulate body temps. We had to keep the house at 72 degrees all the time!
Anyway in the winter it helped to keep a snuggly hat on her head. Most body heat is lost thru your head.

Hope your baby gets better soon. How scary it must be!

I don't get this hypothermia though--I thought that was something you only got when you were left out in the cold, exposed to the elements. You had mentioned hypothyroidism, and that is something mom's had for nearly 30 years now, and it makes her feel cold all of the time. But you said they ruled out hypothyroidism.

Please keep us posted~ and hope baby gets better soon, really soon!
