Snuggie anyone?

I first thought they were dumb and now they seem kind of cool they have ones with animal prints and all kinds of other ones also.

Do they open in the back? Does anyone have one? Is it any better than my big warm robe?

With Christmas coming up this might be the perfect gift for some people.

I've never worn a snuggie so I can't answer your questions, but have you seen these?

And now designer animal print snuggies..

I wonder how easy it would be to make one? I can't sew worth a crap, but these look pretty simple.

My dh's grandma would probably like one. She keeps her thermostat on 85 and she's still always cold.

I wonder how different it is from a regular robe? Funny I don' t know one single person who has one...or who is willing to admit it lol!

Now that they've come out with the leopard print, I might consider asking for one for Christmas. My kids think that they are a hoot. Whenever they would see the commercial with everyone wearing one outside at a soccer game, they would laugh their heads off. I see them in the stores and it's like a magnet...pulling me towards them. So far I've resisted! ~Lisa

My 11 yr old d/d has one. She bought it for $12, and I don't think she loves it as she thought she would.

It is basically like wearing an oversized bathrobe backwards. The material is extremely thin and cheap. I may make her something similar out of a nice cuddly fleece and get rid of this thing.

No I don't have none. I don't wear a robe so a backwards robe has no appeal to me.

I do think it's funny that we have groups of people around here who wear Snuggies out to bars and bar hop. It's some sort of club.

Umm....Wow!

I read about a snuggie bar crawl once but I had no idea it was so widespread. Damn, It's almost like a cult. In fact they even kind of look like robes cult leaders wear.

My son bought me one for my birthday. It is alright I guess kinda of thin for me. I do wear a robe and I prefer my soft fluffy robe over the snuggie. My cats love to sleep on it though.

Don't have one and don't intend to get one. Seems like your backside would get chilly when you get up!!

I hear now they have them for pets!

...I always thought so too, until I got a small dog. When it's cold out and he needs to potty he shivers uncontrollably. I bought him a thick sweater and it helps a lot. I felt kinda silly buying it and dh laughed at me when I got home.

The doggie snuggie looks to loose and flimsy to do any good though.

I have to say that I was one of the biggest "how stupid are these things" critics out there BUT they came out with college Snuggies so I knew I had to buy one for my daughter for her birthday.
It was the TOP gift she got and we now fight to get it. They really are NOT silly.
Everyone at her school has them and they like to keep them at school for the cooler classrooms.
I HIGHLY recommend them now.
(They have them for children and dogs now)
I am purchasing three (college prints) for Christmas presents.

Okay, I will be the first to admit I have one. I waited in lines to get one. Yes I like some aspects of it, I am 5'4 and it drags a lot on the floor. Unlike the robe it doesn't get tight. But we all love to be in the hospital and have our butts hang out. Maybe that was why they did it that way, so you can go to the bathroom without taking it off?

I have heard that they are quite thin and the sleeves are way too long.
I would like to make one using fleece or some fluffy warm fabric.
Altho when I stop and think about it, I do think a soft and fluffy robe would work as well if it was extra large to wrap around you so you could curl up to watch TV or whatever.
I guess it's time to visit the fabric store and look at patterns!

After reading all this I don't think I'll buy one I do have a large warm fluffy leopard robe that I love.

However there is a contest on FaceBook to win a case of Snuggies for you and one for a friend so if I win that it'll be great.

There is a site giving them away. I sent for one. If it works nice, I'll make one from better material.

My older two girls each have one. They both got them for their bdays from their cousin. Eryn's was from ebay where a lady made it out of a reg blanket. Hers has a wolf on it. My niece took it and put sequins all over it. She also decorated Lauren's with sequins and stuff.

I've been running around the house w/two shirts on, one of them long sleeve all the time. I've been freezing since having the baby. This morning as I crawled out from under my blanket for one of his feedings, I thought a snuggie would be nice right about now. LOL I don't think I'll ask for one, though!

A while back, Good Morning America described the Snuggie as a "airplane blanket with sleeves".

Think I'll stick with my large soft robe. Even sitting on the couch with the blanket it's SO not as difficult as what the people act like on the commercial to answer the phone.

I saw yesterday that dollar general now has them for sale, the box says as seen on tv. The box seemed really light, so I would have to agree they must be really thin! Didn't see a price on the box, and wasn't interested enough to go up front and ask.

I pulled one out of the box at Fred Meyer and it is very thin. There is no way to hook the back and it's like a blanket hospital gown basically. I prefer my big fluffy warm soft leopard print robe.
