What is the best hours (time) for little trick or treaters to be out?
5:30-8. What is to early or to late

For us, 5:30 is a little early. We eat dinner as a family before t-o-t and that's usually at 6. So our kids are out about 6:30. I turn out the light when my kids go to bed at 8:30.

Around here it's about 6-9. Last year they started a little earlier but not much. It may be a little later this year since it's on a Saturday.

Ours was 6-7:30. I think that is a good time. It is light but then gets dark, which is fun for the kids to be TOTing in the dark.

We usually go when it starts getting dark until about 8:30. Anything after 9:30 is too late, I think.

The citywide trick-or-treating is 6-8. I don't mind the little ones that come early-it usually starts around 5pm. . We usually just have a pot of chili for dinner, and eat on the go as the boys get dressed. In our neighborhood, even though the kids should be under 13, most of us welcome the teenagers that want to go trick or treating as well. Heck, we would rather feed them candy in the evening, than clean up the toilet paper and smashed pumpkins in the morning.

I would try to follow your city guidelines. I think ours here are 6-8. Anything after 9:30 I'd say is too late.

You said "little"...so I'd say from about 6:00-8:00. I prefer if they come anytime after 6:00, but I'm usually ready for them about 5:00. I keep the outside lights on until about 10:00...then I'm done. ~Lisa

Yeah I'd check your city guidelines. I was pretty sure our ToT was tonight but it isn't until tomorrow between 5-8:30.
My kids older sister was all set to take them out tonight so they are going to go to the next town over that is having ToT tonight. There it is from noon until 9!

I tell you living in Southern IL is so weird!! They can never just have Halloween ON Halloween. I'm always searching to find out when it is.

I've never heard of city hours for T or T'ing. We start seeing kids once it gets dark and we close up around 9-9:30. Once we have spans of 20 minutes since we had a t or t'er, we turn off the light and watch TV. My kids go out once it's dark and then are home to help hand out to the older kids (mostly middle school and teens). If you are wearing a costume you get candy at my house

There are no special times here either. We usually go out right when it gets dark and are usually back by about 7 or 7:30. I'm always the one saying one more block, when they want to come home. lol I usually turn out the lights after we have not had anyone for about 30 min. That is usually around 8:30.
