still have a lot left over from T or T!

How about you ? I was a bit worried when kids came super early to my house. I thought I'd run out.. Nope, I still have a grocery sack of candy left ! I didn't think we'd have so many this year..

I got a decent supply, but was afraid we'd run out. We only got 4 kids. I think I'm not going to do it next year. Too much left over candy.

I bought the 2 huge bags from Costco (1 all chocolate, and other a mixture of non-chocolate), plus I bought lots of regular sized bags from Walgreens
I filled about 70 candy bags, and only gave out 20.....
I also had a large bowl of extra candy in case I ran out of the bags.
Now I have ALL this candy sitting here

Trick or Treaters sure don't come around like they used to..

We forgot to turn on the light so I could have given the one and only child that came a $10 bill ...

I bought alot, but only partially went through the first bag of 30, so there must have been only about 20 kids total. I think my area has less kids now, plus alot more go to parties or trick or treating at the mall.

We bought 2 big Costco bags (one chocolate and one non chocolate like another poster) plus a container of the Halloween pretzels (also from Costco) and some temporary tattoos and glow in the dark skeletons from Oriental Trading. It was all gone when we turned our light off at 9:30 (last T or T'er came around 9:15). We have a bag and a half of candy (the reusable grocery sacks) that my kids got from going out. I"ll have DH take most of that into work to leave at the coffee station because we don't need it all.

We also bought from Costco but the two boxes of full sized candy and one box of cheese n crackers. We have a few cheese n crackers left but the candy's gone besides the 4 I put up for my husband and I (it's only fair right? RIGHT???)
We only had about 30-35 last night. There was rain and a big College game yesterday. (ESPN was here for the Ducks vs. Southern Cal) and the churches had indoor activities so that explains a lot. Still sad in my book though.

I had a ton of kids. They came by the pickup load. I ran out of candy 1 and 1/2 hour into it. I didn't realize it, but this year the church who had the big extravaganza for the kids didn't do it this year.

We had a lot, too! We had 125-130 or so. We get more & more every year it seems. We almost ran out. We had a huge bowl of mixed candy to start. By the time I had about 6 smarties & 1 Almond Joy left, I told DH the next kid gets it all and we're done, but no one else came so I guess I hit it pretty much dead on!

We had a lot of candy left over. We didn't see as many trick or treaters this year as we have in the past. Luckily, we have a local DDS that offers kids $1/lb for their candy (up to $5) and then he sends the candy overseas to troops. We're just going to drop off the leftover at his office.

We have two small bags left...not too bad compared to previous years. We didn't have alot of kids at all, but DH kept giving each kid three each. It's a good thing or I'd probably eat it all myself. I was just very surprised with it being a Saturday night that there weren't more kids. ~Lisa

We didn't have many kids either. We usually have have at least 100 and probably didn't even have 50.

They're doing that here too.

At least 250 here, and it was raining! Had 320 pieces to start and less than 50 left, DH said he gave 2 to a "few" kids. They love our neighborhood because it's an easy walk around 5 blocks.

All of my candy was gone within an hour, which shocked me, because this is a pretty empty neighborhood. I put a small bowl of it outside, which I refilled frequently, since I didn't want the doorbell waking my son, and every time I went out, there was someone there. If I'd known people were actually going to show up, I would have bought a lot more candy.

I have a ton of candy left, I wish I knew of a place where I could drop it off. I had 6 regular size bags of hersheys and m&ms but since i live in an apartment complex, I thought since it was on a saturday that what I had wasn't going to be enough so I ran to BJs Sat morning and got pretzels, a box of blow pops and a big bag of candy. I had 4 kids show up, which was odd since a lot of kids live in my complex. I found out the other day that the reason I didn't get a lot of kids was because the kids were getting fustrated because no one was answering their doors

Do you have room in your freezer for the chocolate? If you do it should keep for next year.

Thank you I am going to try and freeze some and I was thinking when I bake chocolate chip cookies again, instead of chocolate chips I may use the m&ms

Wink

Yes way too much candy left over and we honestly did not have that many children ring our bell, I always say its because we do have a very very long driveway, but it varies from year to year and perhaps because of the rain that was a issue as well, I too was worried we did not have enough, oh well... Peace. Catherine

We didn't have that much left over and DH bought a few more bags last night at Target. It was 75% off and he had a coupon for another 10% off that expired yesterday. DD told me the other night that her friend bit into some M&M's and thought that they didn't taste good. DD saw that they had expired back in 2005! Who would give out old candy like that? Nasty... This was a pretty affluent neighborhood that they went to also. It would have been better not to have given out anything than that old crap. Blah! ~Lisa

I need some candy today and I'm not going to town. Bring me all your leftover chocolate. I'll make sure it's disposed of in the proper manner lol.
