Just happened to me recently. There was no cavity, just broke. Cost about 3 grand to fix it. I had to have a crown put on it. Good luck. Ask your dentist if there are signs of grinding or clenching . My molars all have cracks because I clench my teeth when I sleep or am under stress. I now wear a mouth guard to help prevent anymore damage. Judy |

I had to have a gold cap because I clench my teeth. The other types won't hold up to the pressure. The cap alone was 2000. They also did a root canal at the same time so I wouldn't need to worry about that later on. There was no cavity, but because of the cracks was very sensitive. Judy |

Ugh - that happened to me one time while I was waiting for insurance coverage. My dentist did the build up and put a temporary crown on. That held until insurance would pay for the permanent one.
