How do those of you who work outside of the home spend your days off?

I am off today and am swamped with laundry and housework. I work full time including every other weekend. That gives me one day off during the week which instead of rejuvenating, I have to catch up with all the chores here around the house that I don't have the energy for on the days that I work. Is it just me... or is that just life?

Every other week I have the weekend off so I have two days off in a row where I DO relax! Thankfully.

I try to do housework in the evening on work days so I have as much time as possible to relax or do major projects on my days off. We keep our house clean, but not spotless. Life is too short.

I try and clean up as much as possible after work since I just started working a part-time job in addition to my full time job. However, lately I have found that when I have an entire day off I spend it cleaning and doing laundry. My boyfriend lives with me, and while he does do laundry and clean when he is home, I have to re-do it (its this cleaning compulsion thing I have plus when he does laundry he always forgets the fabric softener and dryer sheets so the clothes always are staticy) I have a full day off tomorrow but I have decided to skip cleaning and go enjoy myself at the Yankee parade
