WalMart Small Shopping Basket

Somewhere on one of these boards we were discussing the question of whether it's okay to leave a few items in the basket and put on the belt. I finally remembered to ask my friend who is a cashier at WalMart about this. She said it's no problem to unload the basket and she thinks it's ridiculous for a cashier to complain. They don't have those little baskets at her store anymore however she has to help unload regular shopping carts on a daily basis if someone has a cast on a limb or is holding a crying baby or is in a wheelchair pushing a regular cart or has heavy items like big bags of dog food.
She said in her opinion it's part of the job to help unload baskets, carts or to call someone to help unload everything at the car if the customer requests it also. It's all about customer service. And maybe she's not as difficult as other cashiers but she has NO problems with coupons or understanding what is going on from one minute to the next.

I personally never put a small basket up on the belt or the cashiers take out I always in any store take the items out myself again just my personal feelings and think its the kind thing to do. Peace. Catherine

I was in Target earlier this week and a girl in line had a small basket that she was emptying onto the belt. The cashier told her she didn't have to and to instead put the whole basket on the belt and she'd empty it as she scanned her items.

Makes sense to me. The few times that I use a small basket I put the whole basket on the belt.

I buy so much I never used a small basket. I do remember a nice male cashier asking if I would like him to help me unload my cart.. I said no, but he did anyway. He was super nice!
