Looking for HTF cookie item

Hello all, I am wondering what you are using to pack your home baked Christmas cookies this year. I am looking to pruchase boxes or tins for less than $1.00 in a decent size. Have any of you seen bakery boxes for less than $1.00 each including shipping or seen them anywhere? I know I sound cheap, but I give so many cookies to so many people I end up spending way more than I should. I don't have much money this season and looking for bakery boxes is hard because the shipping is a lot and you have to buy a lot.

Thanks

I'd suggest Goodwill -- our local store has dozens of tins that I think would be perfect just for packing and shipping cookies. Around 79 cents.

All year long I buy up cellophane bags (after holidays) for cookie exchanges and mailing cookies.
I pack the boxes to be mailed with air popped popcorn, they've always gotten places in good shape (I also undercook them a bit if they'll have more than a 2 day transit).
One dozen cookies fits nicely into the goodie bag sized cello bags, I usually find pkgs of them
(8-12 per pkg, usually) for about 25 cents. St. Patty's Day and Valentine's Day usually yields lots of good Christmas colors.

This won't help you this year. But, I always buy that stuff at Target after Christmas 90% off. There are always tons of Christmas tins and boxes left over still between 75 and 90%. Last year, I got 20 stockings at 90% off. That's what I am going to be putting baked bread into for house gifts this year.

Do you have any restaurant supply stores near you? You can get all kinds of boxes/containers at those type of stores and many times they are cheap, cheap, cheap. You can even get different things such as pizza boxes and chinese takeout containers.

Even if you have to get plain ones, it's no big deal to dress them up with stickers/ribbon/glitter/etc especially if they're super cheap.

Restaurant Supply store is a great idea, most are open to the public. You could also try the Current Catalog, Oriental Trading Company ( Party supplies, crafts, party decorations, toys: Oriental Trading ), Dollar Tree, other Dollar Stores, Target's Dollar Spot has some containers at various times. I've also seen some good deals at the Christmas Tree Shops.

Bakery Boxes - The Box Depot

Tins are offered at Home: Plastic containers, plastic bottles and glass jars from Container & Packaging Supply for a low price of thirty cents apiece.

I almost didn't open this thread because I had no idea what HTF meant...think I got it now - hard to find?

I would try Christmas Tree Shop but I don't think they're in Southern Ca.

My Dollar Tree has the aluminum take out containers with lids for $1.00 per pack (the containers where you pinch the top down around the cardboard lid). They came in several different sizes and you can put some nice design on the cardboard lid.

I don't know exactly where you're located, but you could try a Smart & Final if there is one near you.
