I think it's one of those positions of trust that molesters gravitate to for easy access.

Exactly the question should be "why are so many child molesters allowed to become ministers?" (or coaches or teachers or choir leaders or youth camp directors, etc. They put themselves in a position where children will learn to trust them and where the parents not only allow but encourage their children to go to them.

They just announced on the local news that they arrested a 55 year old man in connection. He is not a family member but an "associate". They also announced that they've identified more victims. How sad.

How deplorable. Those men are not Christians. They are wearing the name in vain. They obviously gravitate to these positions because of the trust the position automatically brings. You see it in schools, too. It's all about getting unfettered access.
