If you had your choice.... (dinner question)

If you had your choice and no one was home would you still cook a hot dinner? I was talking to my friend the other day saying that if we had a choice we would just eat cereal, a sandwich or something easy. Not a cooked dinner like regular nights for hubby/family, etc.

Just wondering!!

Wink

Let understand your question if it was just me I would definitely cook something I rarely take out and because I do not eat meat and limited dairy products its so easy to cook. Now if it was just my husband again while he does he eat meat, he is so easy and I could honestly cook him anything and he would be satisfied. Honestly the only time I do take in is if I am really sick and cooking is the last thing I want to do. Peace. Catherine

For just myself? I actually cook more for me than the family.
I make toasted cheese and tomato soup for me almost every day for lunch.
Or I cook something. I don't eat a lot of carbs so I usually end up making dinner for the family and then dinner for me.

But yeah some nights I just eat cereal. Or ice cream.

sheesh, the only hot dinner I'd be making would be popcorn - in the microwave - and that's a big maybe. I'd be more likely to crack open a can of green beans and eat 'em cold before cooking anything. I wish.

I would not make a big hot deal. A sandwich sounds good, can of vegetables, or a can of fruit. Matter of fact, before I had kids, I would eat that way when my husband was traveling. It was kind of nice!

I would go for a sandwich, Lean cuisine or maybe a couple of eggs w/whole wheat toast. Something easy and quick...

My husband does most of the cooking. When he's not here I usually get take-out from a place that I love, but he doesn't.

It depends on my mood - sometimes I would prefer cereal. I will definitely cook for myself, though! BUT, I enjoy cooking so it isn't a big deal.

I doubt I would cook a big dinner, but it probably would be hot. Grilled cheese, frozen dinners, egg rolls, pizza, stuff like that. I might splurge now and then and throw a steak on the grill, but I probably wouldn't go through the trouble of making sides....just a big 'ol hunk of steak.

It depends on my mood. My husband worked graveyard for many years and sometimes I cooked for myself and sometimes I just ate something like a sandwich.

It depends on my mood, too, and what I'm in the mood for. I will cook for myself if I'm in the mood or it may just be a sandwich.

Most nights, if I'm alone which rarely happens, I have a bowl of cereal. Now if it was long-term, I'd probably cook every now and then.

I live by myself and I cook about 50% of the time.

When I say cooking I mean I make things like: tuna casserole, chicken breasts with some sort of side dish, a frozen lasagna, etc.

The rest of the time I eat sandwiches, cereal, oatmeal and on accasion ice cream or some other junk food.

I would, if I'm pretty good in the mood. It can be pretty fun and self-satisfying in the end.

About the only thing I would ever cook for myself would be a bag of microwave popcorn or a Marie Calender Pot pie.I hate to cook, and I would rather save the electricity, and water usage, with less dishes to clean.
