Red face suggestions on this vacuum or another please.

My Dirt devil MVP bit the dust. So I have been looking around at replacements. I want to stay under $100.00 if possible. I realize I might only get a vacuum that lasts maybe 5 years but I am willing to go with that. Money is tight here.

So anyone ever tried the Dirt Devil M085590 Featherlite Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner . I can get it for around $40.00 give or take.

I have seen mixed reviews on amazon.

I just hate to spend the $40 and then I end up with a vacuum that does not suck up the stuff well.

Dh and I both have long hair and we have a cat so Hair is a major problem..especially since I seem to lose alot..LOL!

I also have a 9 month and 22 month that I babysit regularly and they are on the floor alot.

Thanks for any suggestions.

We have found the ShopVac to work great. We have one of the smaller ones (around $35 on sale) and we use it exclusively in the house. When we first bought this house it had really old carpet that was fraying and the regular upright would catch it. I couldn't get through half a room without having to put a new belt on it. The ShopVac was our solution. At the time we had two dogs and it was a miracle the way it picked up pet hair.
We have replaced our carpets with laminate and we still use the ShopVac to vacuum and I Swiffer in between vacuuming.

Sorry I have not tried that one.
I own a kenmore which was a little more than you wanted to spend. I think its about $150.00. I just threw my dirt devil in the trash and we only had it about 3 years. The motor got really loud and it wasn't picking up much, and it was a little heavy.

Sorry I wasn't more help.
