Any Older Moms of Young Children Here?

Just curious if there are any other older moms here. I am an older mom of a 7 yr. old girl. On my 48th birthday, I was blessed with my wonderful daughter. She was 9 days old. That was the most wonderful gift I have ever been given. It is not always easy being a parent at this age; but, it is always awesome! Since this is my 3rd generation of child rearing, I suppose that was my purpose here.

I am 42 and have a 4 year old. My oldest is 21. So much different raising a child in my 40s than in my 20s.

I was 23, 33, and 6 weeks away from 37 when I had my 3 boys. While 37 is certainly not "old" to have a baby in my book, you'd think I was 47 when I had my last. Lots of stares, some whispers, and some outright rude questions. I think (generally) older parents are wiser, more patient, but we tire more easily.

I was 23 when I had my first daughter and 33 when I had my youngest daughter. They are 10 years and 19 days apart in age! Life is very interesting with a 23 year old married daughter, and another who is 13 and just entering those wonderful teenage years. I told my oldest daughter that I am sending her younger sister to live with her and she can send her back to me when she graduates from High School. LOL

I am a 'young' Grandma of a 3 year old girl, my dd and g-baby still live with me, so I am very active in their lives (yes, I try to butt out and let her parent as much as possible!).

My best friend has 2 kids, the same age as mine (20 and 17) and a daughter who is one year older than my Grandbaby! We both get looks and side-eyes when we take the girls out together.......

I had my youngest at age 40 so yep, I'm pretty sure I'm the oldest mom of all ds's classmates (he's in kindergarten). DH was 51 when ds was born so he is often mistaken for "grandpa" by strangers. I wasn't thrilled to be pregnant at 40, in fact, it was devastating for awhile, but my ds is the joy of my life. He's the sweetest of my three kids and I can't imagine my life without him. Last week he made up a song for me about me being a beautiful woman!

I had my first son at 28 and after years of trying had my second and third at 38 and 39. I never dreamed that I would have a 1 and 2 year old at forty. Now I am 51 with a 22, 13, and12 year old. Even though there are a lot of parents in their 30's with my youngest two, there are also a big group of 45+ parents in my group. I'm not even the oldest.

I was 34 when I had my son and 35 when I had my daughter. I am 47 now and would LOVE to have another one. My heart is so sad to think that I am most likely done having children. It is difficult for me to accept.

I am 42, and I have a beautiful 3 year old little boy that is the light of my life!!!

I also have 2 daughters, 22 and 20, and a grandson, 3 weeks!!

I've noticed that I am alot more tired, but I think a much better parent in general. I think we have more patience being older, and I think I appreciate everything much more, we are more settled. Just my opinion!!

I am the same age as you and feel the same horrible sadness.

I'm 42 and had a miscarriage last year on Halloween. I still haven't gotten over that. It is so sad to realize I probably will never hold a new baby that is mine again.

I am 47 and Thank God I don't have a small child. LOL I admire those of you who are over 40 with small children. I love being selfish at this age. Although I look forward to my 25 yr old son someday giving me grandchildren I am very happy to be free right now.

Oh good lord, as I type I am 10 days 'late' on my cycle. Most likely this is part of peri-menopause, but my heart skips beats every day I am late! Very very slim chance of pregnancy but that would make a baby younger than my grandbaby......

Update.....

I knew if I posted, it would bring on the flow........I usually don't post such personal, TMI stuff, but this worked......got it this am. False alarm! Good news for us, not planning on more babies, but everytime I am late my mind plays 'tricks'......first my boobs get sore, then I am a little green in the am, then start eating everything in the fridge.......I am convinced that I am pg.....then nope--false alarm.
