Christmas Music??

Is anyone besides me, already excited about Christmas music on the radio?? We have a local radio station that started it yesterday, and I'm telling you, it has helped my mood so much!!

There is just so many worries these days, that just relaxing and concentrating on the beauty and meaning of the season just makes it all easier to cope with. I just can't wait till the day after Thanksgiving to decorate!!!

I heard on the news here that a radio staion in a town 1 and a half hours away started playing Christmas music the first of October. I can't pick it up here, but it inspired to start listening to a Christmas CD in my van.

I love Christmas music. I have the time life treasury, and I also like listening to the big band christmas music. Love the 40s christmas music. It just makes you think about how simple life was back then, before it became so commercialized. My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story because it takes place at a time when life was so much different than today!

They started playing it here Nov 1. The weather wasn't cold yet and I wasn't in the Christmas spirit yet. They do it every year and I'm kind of starting to get burned out on Christmas music. They think more is better, but sometimes more is too much!

Nov 1 is way too early and almost obnoxious. One of our radio stations did that two years and I believe were criticized as now they start Nov 15.~~a little more in line.

I do like hearing music to get in the spirit, but I admit by Christmas, I get tired of the music and do not mind seeing it filed away until next year. I notice that our radio station has about 20 songs that they just keep repeating over and over.

Now that we're getting close to Thanksgiving, I'm starting to hear it and enjoying it too. I've also been to one Trans-Siberian Orchestra show so far, and THAT always kick-starts my holiday mood.

My usual station has switched to an all Christmas song playlist the day after Thanksgiving for many years. Last year and this year they started two weeks before Thanksgiving. Now I love Christmas music, old and new. However it makes me sick to hear it all day long and the same songs over and over and over. It's like having cheesecake for every meal. It's delicious but after a while you get tired of it.
And I feel sorry for people who work in retail they have to listen it every day all day long.

Anything no matter how wonderful it is gets ugly after constant repitition. It is just not special anymore.

My 7 yr. old DD and I kicked off our Christmas music today by singing I'm Gettin Nuttin for Christmas. We had a blast. Currently we are baking an easy bake cake. Then we are gonna sing a Judds Christmas song.

my station started Nov 1st. I emailed them and politly told them I would listening to other stations, until after Christmas, listening in the car and the stores and on tv for SO long is too much and does not put everyone in the spirit of the holidays

My fav Christmas album is a John Denver that I've had for years. But one of the songs is "Please, Daddy, don't get drunk this Christmas..." my kids know all the words. lol They've heard it since they were little. Now it's this weird kind of child hood memory. Too funny.

I like Christmas music, but sometimes it is too much of a good thing!!

Christmas music is nice, but radio stations and stores playing it before Thanksgiving is too much.
There is a limited amount of Christmas songs/music out there and after a while it just becomes annoying. And some of it is just DUMB, period. Dogs barking "Jingle Bells" comes to mind. That is just stupid. I do not care who likes it, it is dumb, annoying and un-necessary and I did not need to hear it on the radio this morning(I set a new speed record in channel changing as soon as I heard it and dropped the "All Christmas music" channel from my pre-sets).

I love Christmas music, especially the religious classics. There are a few tunes I really hate, though, like the one about the Christmas donkey.

At work at the PO, we have a guy who plays a Jingle Bells version which features a dog barking out the song. Never fails to crack me up, and he plays it quite often....mailman humor...

I enjoy Chrismas music except for the really stupid ones, barking dogs and old ladies getting run over by deer, stuff like that.
I REALLY love Christams Carols, the religious songs. They voice what it's really all about!.

When I have had enough, I just put the ipod or a cd on. No biggie! I love it anyway. I listen through the year when I get in the mood.

I LOVE Christmas music so I was excited when our station started playing it on Thursday. Sirius Radio is also playing it with more channels coming soon.
I have to tell you this:
When I use to work at Macy's we started playing it, I think, early November. A male customer checked out and commented about it and asked how I could stand it and I replied that I love it and he then said well you won't and I "kindly" siad that it was great and we went back and forth 3 times with him going out of my department and shouting back that I won't when it's all over. I really felt like I was in a kindergarten battle. I always think about that when I hear music early.
