I didn't see it on you tube, but saw a picture. He just loves the shock value of doing something, doesn't he? If he wants his career to go anywhere, he needs to drastically tone it down. Mainstream America doesn't particularily like this kind of stuff.

He was off tune, screechy and fell (he denies it) during the performance. Oh and he kissed a guy and various other "shock" things.

If he really wanted to shock America, he would have sung a song with no screaming. He has a wonderful voice and really doesn't need all the antics.

I think Adam has an amazing voice and talent. The performance that night was very disappointing. Everything was done (costumes, dancers, and the kiss) were all designed to shock, but in reality felt old, tired, and a little silly. It wasn't "shocking", it was lame. We've seen the same type of "act" from hundreds of other performers done much better. He needs to refocus and do what he does best---sing.

I'll tell ya, if THAT'S the kind of direction his agent/publicist/creative powers-that-be are taking him? He'll crash and burn so fast, all he'll be remembered for is how ridiculous he was.

He's got a killer voice, no doubt, but takes more than that to make it That "performance" - using the term very lightly - made him look like an idiot. What a sad debut.

On a side note - wonder why YouTube had to pull them all, yet that one remains on Yahoo?

Let's see.....simulating male oral sex, bondage overtures, kissing a man, etc... Not exactly appropriate for an ABC prime time awards show.

Don't know much about him, but did see him sing a few times- great voice! That AMA performance was ridiculous- is that really what they think America wants to see when they watch someone sing? I personally have no desire to see anyone on stage (singing or otherwise) sticking their face in someone's crotch. If it was supposed to be shocking, it just came off as classless and, well,... yucky.

Yeah, they described it on the View yesterday morning:

"he led two of his dancers out on a leash, took one of the dancers' heads and ground it into his crotch and simulated oral sex"

"he put his hand underneath one of the dancer's legs and simulated like he was pulling on her crotch"

"he fondled one of the dancers and used his finger when he was fondling her"

I never watched a single moment of American Idol this year. I wondered what all the hype about him was. I thought his performance on the AMA was disgusting. Some people like him a lot. You could not pay me to buy one of his CD's.

Now, I did purchase Susan Boyle's new CD yesterday @ Target. "I Dreamed a Dream". She sings like an angel.

LOVE him!!!! Don't really think anything about his performance is that much different than Madonna kissing girls--why the double standard? I think the AMA's were full of off the wall type performances and what about that Eminem and 50 cent song? Most of that was bleeped out so why bother even putting them on? Just my opinion.

I give him credit on the turnabout's-fair-play front, but I was expecting something a bit . . . sexier? It's, like, dorky + kinky = Adam Lambert.

I missed the show, but I found a link to the performance. I didn't see anything wrong with it. All the hype makes it a lot bigger than what it was. I, too, would expect something sexier from him...

While I think the performance was a bit over the top and definitely meant to shock, it's not like it was on at 8pm.

didn't watch the awards, but have seen and read some on Adam's little "show".

I think Adam needs to study what happened to controversial musicians who were controversial just for the publicity. Marilyn Manson comes to mind.....

I think that a lot of people have issues w/ his kiss vs. the Madonna/Britney kiss for the simple fact: It was obvious that Madonna/Britney was staged. Adam's kiss and act was sexual and did not appear staged. I don't care if it's boy/boy, boy/girl, girl/girl---I don't want anyone's sexuality shoved down my throat when I least expect it.

The performance was not my thing, but not everything is or should be. Grinding the guy's face in his crotch simulating a blow job was over the top, however, imho. Same for sticking his finger in the female's crotch.

If all he did was kiss another boy no big deal (to me). However all that simulated sexual activity is not ok for prime time tv.

What part of "I'd love his CD for Christmas" can't you understand? I didn't say I'd love his Christmas CD. I'd like to have his CD as a Christmas gift. However, he is a really gifted singer and can sing every type of song, and I'm sure he could produce a really good Christmas CD with no screaming.
