I have a pair of Bear Paws they are okay but they only last for one season if you wear them a lot and they are nowhere as comfortable as Uggs. I have never heard of Emu. You might try Reviews from Epinions People review all kinds of products there and you can put in your reviews also. Another thing I do is just google it maybe something like Emu boots comfortable Bear Paws boots comfortable And look for forums where people discuss footwear I'll bet there's some just for boots.

I have looked into Uggs as well. They are expensive, but worth the price? I personally don't own a pair but my sister in law does. She likes them but I don't find them any different than the Bear Paw or Emu brands. One of my daughters has the Bear Paw and the other Emu. They both wear about the same, but do recommend the Bear Paw because the sole traction is much better under wet conditions. It is highly recommended that you do purchase the waffle type opposed to the smooth w/grooves. The Emu pair that we have is smooth with grooved lines and you will end up on your bootie in the rain and snow. (At least my daughter and I did on several occasions) ![]() Now comparing them to the Uggs brand, I believe it is personal preference. I do recommend that regardless of which brand/type you purchase, spray water repellent (I think that is what you call it) on them to keep your feet dryer and warm. Note: Our boots are one and a half yrs old. Best of luck with your decision..... |

My daughter has a pair of Bear Paws and really likes them. She got them at Shoe Carnival on Black Friday for around $25 after all the discounts (and $10 giftcard they gave away).

I have a pair of Classic Short Uggs, bit over 2 years old now. They are warmest winter boots I've ever had, and even when soaked with rain and snow my feet have stayed warm and dry. Also wear em in the summer and my feet don't get over heated. Uggs are made with the whole merino sheep hide. Other brands are cow hide glued & stitched to the wool or fake wool. If you took apart a pair of Uggs it would be like a tiny sheepskin rug because of the use of the whole piece of hide. That's the diff twixt Uggs and other brands that look like Uggs. I've worn mine to death just about, most folks don't wear em as much (or abuse them as much) as I have done. (even have gardened in em). I've had toe caps put on mine (I'm a toe lifter and wore through the toes after about 1 year) and heel plates, but can't do that anymore so it's time to get a new pair. I want to bronze or ceramicize my old pair when I get a new pair and use em for planters ;-) |
