Who's traveling for the XMAS holiday???

Somewhat last minute decision to travel this XMAS, but, I'm sure we'll be glad we did, later on. Paid a lot for airline tix, but, oh well..... it's just money, right???

So, is anyone traveling for the holidays?

No my husband has to work Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas so we'll be staying home this year.
I'm torn between being a little sad that we'll be alone and happy that I can bundle up and just make dinner for two.

Yes. We're driving to Nebraska where most of our family lives. Hope the weather cooperates as the past two years, we have had ice troubles in Iowa. Hoping and praying for a safe journey.

No traveling for us. We did have to travel 12-14 hours each way for Christmas (for 2 yrs when we lived out of state). It was a pain. We used to rent a small Uhaul trailer to cart all of our stuff, presents, and anything we decided we no longer wanted (our big garage sale each yr is at my parent's house) up.

No, we'll stay home. Next year we might try to spend New Year's at a resort in Mexico. That is my plan.

Going next door to my brother and sister in laws. We probably won't even take the car (unless we have a huge amount of snow to trudge through). It is so nice living next to the in laws.

We're staying home. My son will be home from college so I'm looking forward to that. My parent's live about 45 minutes away so we'll go up there for Christmas dinner. They moved down here about five years ago so no more road trips up north. I don't know how we did it for eight years. We would drive up to NJ from GA...about a 13 hour trip...with three kids ages 5, 3, and a newborn...with all of their "stuff"...travel tender, bottles, diapers, toys, snacks, stroller, etc....you name it...My parents would go crazy buying them gifts...We'd ride back to GA barely able to see out of the back of the minivan. We'd usually all be sick or get sick from being so worn out from trying to see everyone in such a short amount of time we had. Whew...glad those days are over! ~Lisa

We we're going to go home (from Maine to PA) this year but changed our minds. Ran into some unexpected repair bills. Kinda glad we're staying home (don't need the stress) but kinda sad since I haven't seen my mom and friends in over 3 years. Oh well, maybe in the spring/summer time.

Going to my son's house in TX for New Year's. Our dd and other son and family are coming. First time in five years that we are all together for the holidays since we are all in different states.

Christmas Eve is spent with my inlaws. On the way home we stop at my parents house so my children can open their gifts. Christmas morning I'm up early in order to be showered and dressed before anyone else. We get the kids up about 6:30 to open gifts and then have breakfast. After breakfast we finish loading the car, pick up my parents about 8:15 and make the two hour drive to my brother's house. That's our big trip!!

Just a couple of hours to our daughter's.
We will go Christmas Eve and probably come ome the day after Christmas.
Our youngest grandson is only seven so its still fun to be with him because he still believes in Santa. And, of course , we enjoy being with the whole family.

Safe travel to all!
