Christmas Card Question

How many do you send? Are you cutting down this year. I heard some people doing them by e-mail. Do you do photo cards?

I send the same amount year after year, about 30. I am doing photo cards this year, I got a cute pic of my lab and my new kitten sleeping TOGETHER on the dog's bed. I HAD to have that made into Christmas cards.....and most of the people I am sending to don't know yet we have the new kitten, so it'll be a nice surprise.

My list is getting shorter every year. I go by who sent me one last year. If its family and they don't send one to me, I will still send to them. If its a former co worker or acquaintance and they don't send one back I will drop them. Last year I sent about 30. I can see e-mail for party invites but not for christmas. I don't do picture cards. I buy at end of season. Actually I got such a good deal a few years ago I haven't bought any lately.

I send none.

I look at it this way, I'm in touch with my friends/family all the time via facebook/email/whatever so there is really no need for a Christmas card to catch people up on stuff as in years past.

I used to send them to my grandmothers and an elderly aunt that were not into technology but they have all since passed on so there is no need anymore.

The only time I give a holiday card now is if I need something to stick a gift card in, such as the one that I give to my boss.

Wink

Still doing photo cards having been doing it since our first was born 23 years ago along always in the picture we always included our pets as well only sometimes the both the dogs and the cats. Now we include me and my dh as well so that friends and family members can see how big we are now lol. No cutting down my husband has a big family business and knows so many people we do alot I honestly could say sometimes it reachs 150 plus cards . Then I do hand out special non photo cards to our kids each other and our parents and brothers and sisters and their family . I used to do aunts and uncles however sadly I only have 2 aunts on my dads side and his one half brother. Peace. Catherine

I ordered 100 cards this year (last year I ordered 125 but had about 15 left over) and I am almost out but then again I am almost finished sending them.
For many years I have sent the 4x8 photo cards and prior to that I sent cards with my daughters photo in it.
I just like the 4x8 photo cards.
I told my friend tonight that next year I might skip over some people.
I have an address book that you list the year and if you sent and/or recieved a card.
It is depressing to see some people's name with a check mark in the sent since 2006 and no check mark in the recieved.
I also send a Christmas letter.

I send about 20 no picture no holiday letter. Just a few personal lines in each card some Christmas confetti and that's it.

I usually send out about 30. I've always put in a picture of the kids, but since we did a family photo last year and sent that, this year I'm not sending a photo. Since I've gotten on Facebook, I've shared photos with many friends on there. I ordered some cards from Vistaprint where you create a character for each person. They turned out really cute! I would never do an email card of send a Christmas letter. I usually will write something personal inside. We never get back as many as we send out. I find these days alot of people just don't seem to do cards anymore. I don't know if it's becuase of the economy and the price of stamps or because we can keep in touch electronically now. ~Lisa
