BlueSkeyes, is what you're feeling related to things that are happening in your life, such as relationship issues, financial problems or some other things? I'm not trying to pry into your personal business, but if you are going through tough times, it's certainly normal to feel sad about it. However, if things aren't too bad, and you find no joy in anything anyway, you may be clinically depressed. Can you talk to someone professionally? Or open up to a friend you trust? It might help. Even though the holidays are supposed to be a fun and happy time, it isn't always for everyone. And I think we put the pressure on ourselves that we should be happy at Christmas. Who says? it is a very stressful time, especially for women, who are expected to bake, cook, arrange parties, decorate, buy and wrap giifts, and then clean up all the mess. Not always so fun. Anyway, I just wanted to respond, and I hope you are feeling better soon. |

I was just looking up SAD the other day. Seasonal affective disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Anyway it says "a mood disorder in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year experience depressive symptoms in the winter or, less frequently, in the summer, spring or autumn, repeatedly, year after year." So I figured I don't have it since I know I am not of normal mental health during the rest of the year ![]() I think the stress of so much to do in addition to normal every day stuff is really a lot worse around the holidays. Take a few minutes out of each day to unwind.
