Smile The Holidays at the WDW Hotels. Lots of Photos

Part 1
My daughter and I headed up to Disney World on Thursday. I was determined to see as many of the hotels as humanly possible. Surprisingly the high point of the day wasn't the hotels. It was seeing a flock of about 20 TURKEYS walking around at one of the Disney golf course. Holy moly, they sure are big.

We parked at the Fort Wilderness outpost and took the bus to the center of town.

Ugg, they took out all the animals at the petting zoo. Now there are only ponies there for kiddie rides. Because there wasn't much else to look at we took the bus over to the Wilderness Lodge.

Next we headed towards the boat to get a ride over to the Monorail. The weather wasn't the best yesterday but luckily it didn't start raining until later on in the day. The ducks were about the only ones enjoying the pool.

As we pulled away in the boat, the geyser went off.

The view of the Contemporary and the Bay Lake Tower as we were coming across the lake.

Part 2

Instead of taking the monorail, we opted to walk over to the Contemporary.

The view from one of the balconies.

Next we jumped on the monorail and headed towards the Poly.

Then we took a walk outside. The view from the beach.

After a short rest there, it was time to head to the Grand Floridian.

Our first view of the Gingerbread House.

Part 3

And a whole bunch of other views.

We each bought a gingerbread man and sat eating the poor fellow while we enjoyed the tree.

Part 4

After that we jumped on the monorail to go back to the MK area and take a bus to the EPCOT hotels. Just as we pulled into the station, the power went out. I then had visions of spending hours on the monorail seeing that's been happening a lot lately. Fortunately the doors opened about 10 minutes later.

We stopped at the Boardwalk first.

More edible decorations.

Then it was outside to head over to the Swan and Dolphin. The Boardwalk tree from the back...

and the front.

Here's a mixed bag of both the Swan and Dolphin sights.

Part 5

Outside Swans:

Inside swans.

The Swan had the best tree I saw all day!

It's made up of hundreds of poinsettias Just magnificent.

Well it had finally started to rain so we took the boat over to the YC/BC area. Chocolate and gingerbread carousel.

Directions.

Christmas train and village.

By now it was nearly 3 pm and I needed to get to DTD to pick up my yearly Disney ornament so we took the bus from the Beach Club. It was raining harder by the time we got there so it was a really quick trip. The only place we stopped in to was the Christmas shop and that was lovely.

We then staggered out to get a bus back to Fort Wilderness. Oh happy day! There was one waiting for us.

Against any type of common sense we ended the day viewing the decorations at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and pigging out at Bomas.

For anyone who's been counting, that was 11 hotels and Downtown Disney in a 8 hour period.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Disney World during the holidays is fantastic!

Thanks for posting. We were just there in September, and it brought back great memories. They sure know how to do it up right at WDW don't they???

My favorites are the Gingerbread Gazebo and Gingerbread Carousel! However it's all pretty spectacular. They sure go all out for Christmas. I love the trees and the mantel.
