Positive Shopping Experiences???

We've all had them, now let's post about them, and get away from the negative experiences we've had!! I'll go first.

Yesterday at the grocery store I didn't encounter any rude people, which is pretty much how my shopping trip usually goes. When I got to the check out, the bagger and cashier were super friendly, and gave me NO hassles whatsoever with my coupons. I even got 4 HUGE packs of the Marcal eco-friendly napkins, and 5 boxes of the eco-friendly tissuses FREE with FREE coupons. The cashier didn't bat an eye. Nor did he huff when he saw the large stack of coupons being used by the lady behind me. I saved $54 in coupons (34% of my bill).

I went to Hallmark this week and found 10 packs of handmade blank greeting cards on the reduced rack. They were $10, reduced to $2.50 each. I snatched up 2 boxes and headed to the check out with my $5 off anything coupon. The clerk rang it up and it didn't charge tax. I pointed that out to her, and she said "Well, that's what it rang up. Have a good day!" Actually, I've had 6 of those $5 coupons (all obtained honestly in my copies of magazines and 2 printed from their website). Every time I used one, the clerk was extremely nice.

My experience at Victoria's Secret last week was incredible. The way I was treated, the personal assistance, from the moment I walked in to the moment I left I felt special and appreciated.

I don't think I have had a bad experience this season. I think my favorite people are the clerks at Kohls. They are all so friendly and nice. I had a $10 off $20 coupon and I didn't think I could also use my 30% off everything at the same time so I gave it to the lady in back of me in line. When it was my turn to check out she told me I could have used that too and gave me one to scratch off and it was only 15%. She then asked who I had given it to and said oh I see it (which she didn't because the lady was to far away) and gave me the 30% off too. I try to always look the person in the eye that is helping me when I say thank you so they know that I am really seeing them and appreciate their help.

I did not have enough coupons at Macy's $10 off $25 sale and a lady came up to me and handed me one of hers.

Yesterday while shopping, a woman chased me down in the parking lot. She was bringing me the $20 that the cashier had set on the counter when giving me the receipt for purchase. I had used my debit card and assumed the cashier gave me the cash with my receipt. My bad!!! She had set it on the counter and the customer behind me saw what happened, didn't realize I didn't have the money until she stepped up to pay. Good thing for me she took time out of her day!

anna I agree with you 100 percent while every now and then I do come across someone is not happy with all my coupons but in the scheme of things its a minor problem and I am always always friendly and I talk to all of them. I will say having to stand on your feet and work for 5 dollars and hour and have to put up with nasty and rude customers it is not easy. Perhaps in these hard economic tmes that is the only job some people can get and any job any paying job is better then nothing. I give anyone who deals with the public alot of praise it is not easy. Peace. Catherine

I had a great cashier yesterday in CVS. I used several ECB's towards my purchase and my balance was about .75. I bought three of those Revlon lipsticks and got some more ECB's back. He said "Wow, I've never seen anyone clean up like this!" He actually seemed happy that I got a great deal...that is rare these days! I also had a nice cashier in Target the other night. I used two of those printables for the free tea. He was asking me about how the tea tasted. I said, try it for yourself and gave him one of the bottles. He was happy, I was happy, and it was a pleasant shopping trip. ~Lisa

All my shopping experiences this season have been positive ones. The ladies at Harry & David were especially nice. They were serving coffee and truffles and I was carrying too many packages to hold them so I had to decline. One of the cashiers had passed me on her way into the store so she knew where I was parked. I had just finished loading my car with the presents I had bought, when she came out holding a cup of coffee, creamer, sugar, and four differently flavored truffles! It was a lovely gesture from a nice girl and I appreciated her braving the elements just to make a customer feel special. And I loved the coffee and truffles!

I honestly can't remember the last time I had a bad shopping experience. I am pleasent to the cashiers. I worked in a convenience store for many years. I know how grumpy people can be. Maybe I am just so used to bad moods that I don't notice it.

I've not shopped much, but it's been good experiences all around. Even when I was in Aeropostale and went to check out, walked up to the counter, smiled at the cashier. She smiled back and asked "would you like to check out?" Yes, I said, then she politely pointed to the VERY long line I had cut in front of!!! Too funny, but she was very nice about it! "Tis the season, ya know? lol

So far I haven't had a bad experience with cashiers or customers, everybody seems to be patient and polite.

When I was shopping at Kohls last week, the women behind me in line was from out of town and she gave me her Kohls cash, because she would not be near a Kohls when she left town. I was shocked when I realized that she gave me $30 in Kohls cash. I thanked her, and she simply said to *enjoy*!

I almost always have a good experience with Kohls

The last time I was at King Soopers, there were big lines. The line next to me opened up and the people behind me made a run for it. The cashier asked them to wait and brought my cart over and helped me Of coarse, that is how it SHOULD be but you honestly hardly ever see it.

This is kinda OT but there is a drive through Starbucks here in town. I don't ever go there but apparently there is a sweep of "paying it forward" going on there. Every day I read in the paper about people who prepay the person behind them in lines drink order (giving them a free drink). I think that's cool I tried to do that at a Sonic drive thru once but the teenager didn't know how to handle that...oh well.

Recently at Kohl's, the very nice cashier let me have $10 Kohl's cash even though I was $5 short of meeting the $50 minimum. That had never happened to me before and I was very pleased.

went to Ross yesterday, found the cutest dress!
The tag I saw said $14.99.
Checked out and wasn't paying attention. Got in the car, and son looked at receipt and said "You paid $23 for that dress?". So, we went back in. I showed the girl that the tag said $14.99, she showed me a tag (that I didn't see) that said $22.99. It was a two piece dress--a jacket and dress combo. Apparently they tagged the dress and then tagged the jacket. But they were attached to each others (and there were others like it on the rack). She credited my credit card the difference ($8). Was very nice about it and even thanked me for bringing it to her attention, and thanked my son for going and pulling the other one off the rack for her. All and all, good customer service and a satisfactory compromise on everyone's part.

And as an aside---my son said "momma, you sure handled that calmly. I bet Daddy would have been a jerk about it." I didn't comment on his father. I just told him it wasn't a huge deal, and I would have paid $22.99 for the dress because I liked it, but the store needed to be made aware that there was an issue...
