Any hairstylist on here I need help please

I have an extemely dry scalp. I have tried using mostiurizing shampoos and conditioners with no luck. Some one recommended that I use tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner which i have, and it helped a little. I got my hair cut the other day and the woman told me to use coconut oil to mositurize my scalp. She sold me this jar and told me to put it into hot water to heat it, and use a little massage it on my scalp after shampooing, wait a half hour, rinse, shampoo again and condition. which i did and that is where the problem started. i did exactly what she said, I shampooed, then did the oil waited the 1/2 hour then rinsed shampooed again and conditioned but since then my hair looks greasy, (it feels soft and smells good, but looks disgusting ) I have washed my hair 3-4 times a day since then and nothing has changed. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have tried washing it in cold, warm and hot water and nothing worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not a hairdresser but have you tried a clarifying shampoo yet? They strip all the gunk out of your hair so it may help with the oil. I would skip conditioners for a bit too!

This will sound off the wall, but instead of a clarifying type of shampoo, I've used Palmolive dish washing liquid (just a very small amount) and then conditioned with regular conditioner and my hair doesn't have any problems (meaning my hairdresser doesn't have a fit and tell me I'm doing something wrong when I go get my hair cut lol). I have very fine hair and if I don't wash it everyday, then it looks greasy very quickly. I just do the Palmolive thing every once in a while, but it works for me.

I'm not a hairdresser, either, but I'd wash it with Dawn dishwashing soap to get the coconut oil out. Remember Dawn cuts grease, then you could wash it again with your regular shampoo to get the Dawn out.

When we were kids, we put vaseline in our hair for halloween. We tried every thing to get it out. My mom is a hair dresser and heard that room temperature coca cola would cut it. Sure enough.....it worked.

The part about the Dawn cuts grease cracked me up! My husband, but at the time boyfriend used to use Dawn b/c he worked under cars all day and when he came home his hair would be greasy and stuff. I thought he was nuts at the time, little did I know I'd be using it years from then .

A vinegar rinse might help.
