New Years Eve

We just got a call from my BIL inviting our family over to their house for New Years. Other SIL and BIL will be coming. We got together last year also. Fun times. Good food, good company. We used to go out to a restaurant before the kids. Now I'd rather stay in with family. What do you do for New Years. Go out or stay in.

We go over to my aunt's house and the kids play games all night. We have snacks and watch the ball drop. I'd rather be with my family also, then out somewhere. I use to do that too before DS, but now things have changed!

We stay home as well. My girls are teenagers, so they sometimes have plans either to babysit or go out with friends. DH & I stay home (well one year we went to a movie, then came back home...real exciting!) We usually have champagne for us and if the girls are here they'll have sparkling grape juice. We play games and watch the ball drop as well.

We prefer to stay home, just the two of us.
We are going to a get-together of friends at a friend's house on New Year's Day.
I'd rather do that than be out on the roads on New Year's Eve.

We stay home. Sometimes DH and I will go out for an early dinner. When the kids were little we'd have noisemakers and hats. We'd bang some pots and pans at midnight outside. Now that they are teens and are probably going to friends, we'll just rent some movies and make some snacks. We always tune into Dick Clark around 11:30 and watch the ball drop in Times Square. I've never been there, but it's on my bucket list! ~Lisa

We usually stay home. We play games and sit around eating snacky stuff all day and night

This year I'm not sure how things will go. We lost one of our 4 year old twins last New Years Eve.

We'll stay home and just do whatever probably.

We used to go to my parents house to play euchre with my aunts and uncles but since my mom died we don't usually do that now. We will probably just hang out at home. My niece wants us to come to her house this year, her neighbor keeps asking if I'm coming. Apparently I'm pretty popular with her neighbors. lol But, my son just wants to be home as much as possible, so here we will stay!!

I work New Year's Eve and then have to be back at work for 11 a.m. so.........I'm staying in. I'll stop for a cuppa coffee and something for the DH, shower, get in my jammies, get on the computer for a bit, harass the cat and then off to bed. I know....really exciting. Oh well.....At least I'll be home safe and sound plus I have no idea what the weather is going to be like and I don't feel like being out in the cold since I'm in and out of it all day long.

We go next door to my sister in laws house. A bunch of us all get together for good food and lots of fun. We all have teenagers, so we usually allow them to all hang out at one of our houses, that way...we are right next door to keep an eye on them, but they get a little freedom without the worry for us! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

We stay in and for the last so many years my husband has had to work the day before and the day after. This year I believe that's also the case.

Afurrything - I'm so sorry, as well.

As for New Years, I was just sitting here thinking about that. There is usually a big party in our neighborhood, which we have attended in the past. However, it is wild and crazy and I usually spend two days recovering, so I don't think we will go there this year. I was just doing a search for restaurants and am trying to decide where we might want to go. We've done that in the past, as well - just out for a nice dinner, then home to watch movies. I will encourage DH to do that this year.

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure how I am going to deal with NYE yet. I just found out today that my husband has to work that night. I may be on here looking for distractions.

I too am sorry for your loss afurrything.

As for New Year's, Party is at my house. We do it every year. I make a lot of finger foods and snacks. We invite around 10 or so people mostly family and neighbors and we play games, watch movies and around 11:45pm flip on the ball and watch it drop at midnight. It is a good time and people are close to home so they don't have to drive. If anyone comes who lives where they have to drive we have them stay in our guest room and this way we know everyone stays safe.
