Bit the bullet, got myself an account.
There's so much *stuff* on the pages, is there any way to get rid of any of it or stop it from coming?
I've already gotten tons of stuff like, *X found some Rare Black Mystery Eggs to share with their friends* or stuff about baby animals I just can't fathom.
I don't have a lot of time to be on the puter and scrolling through all this jazz just to see if there's anything I shouldn't miss from someone is a pain in the neck.
Also, what things do I need to know about FB that will save me time, headaches, and enhance my FB experience?

Run your cursor over the post and in the top right of the post there will be a button that says "hide", click it and it will give you the option of hiding the person or the application.

There's an "x" beside suggestions. If you click that, it won't show the suggestions anymore.

No, the friends suggestion will be there. Once you remove one, another one will pop up in it's place. If someone writes something directly to you, it will be on your profile page, so you don't have to look through homepage.

On the left hand side of your main page will be things like status updates, news feed, pages, etc. Make status updates your top item and you won't see any game updates at all, just status updates from friends.

How do I do that? Tried dragging and dropping, didn't work.

You should be able to drag and drop. Select "More" at the bottom of the list, then drag the one you want up to the top. For some reason, you can't drag down, only up. Hope this works for you.

Just look at your notifications in the lower right hand corner you'll see "so and so wrote on your wall" or "so and so commented on your (or John Doe's) wall post" That way you can click on only the ones you want to see and in the lower right hand corner you'll only see the notifications that are new since the last time you logged in.
